The Traditional Wushu Federation of Armenia ( hy, Հայաստանի ավանդական ուշուի ֆեդերացիա), is the regulating body of wushu in Armenia, governed by the Armenian Olympic Committee. The headquarters of the federation is located in Yerevan. History As a sport, Wushu has been developed in Armenia since the early 1970's. The Traditional Wushu Federation was established in 1992. Rustam Alaverdyan is the current president. The Federation oversees the training of wushu specialists and organizes Armenia's participation in European and international level Wushu competitions, including the European Wushu Championships and the World Junior Wushu Championships. ''Wushu'' (), or ''Kung fu'', is a hard and soft and complete martial art, as well as a full-contact combat sport. It has a long history in reference to Chinese martial arts. World Junior Wushu Championships
The World Junior Wushu Championships (WJWC) is an international wushu competition organized by the International Wushu Federation (IWUF) for competitors below 18 years of age. There are three age groups for the Taolu events and there is also a Sanda category. Editions Source: * 2020 in Rabat, Morocco was cancelled. The International Wushu Federation (IWUF) is an international sport organization and is the governing body for wushu in all its forms worldwide. The IWUF is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and is also a member of the ARISF, GAISF, FISU, IWGA, and the ISF. World Wushu Championships
The World Wushu Championships (WWC) is an international sports championship hosted by the International Wushu Federation (IWUF) for the sports of wushu taolu and sanda (sanshou). It has been held biennially since 1991 and is the pinnacle event of the IWUF. The World Wushu Championships also coincides with the IWUF Congress as well as with various committee meetings.
