Toyota All-Star Showdown
The Sunrise Ford All-Star Showdown is a Super Late Model championship event at Irwindale Speedway, originally held from 2006-10 seasons as a non-championship NASCAR event for lower-level series, and since the 2020 motorsport season, revived by the circuit was a Super Late Model event for the SRL Southwest Tour. The original format from 2003-11 seasons were sanctioned by NASCAR. The revived event, which the track and the Southwest Tour still recognise continually, continues to be held at Irwindale. 2006 format In 2006, the Showdown was a two-race card, as it had been throughout its brief history. One was for drivers in the AutoZone Elite Division, comprising the Northwest, Southeast, Southwest, and Midwest divisions. Irwindale Event Center
The Irwindale Speedway & Event Center (a.k.a. ''Irwindale Speedway'', ''Irwindale Dragstrip'', or "The House of Drift") is a motorsports facility located in Irwindale, California, United States. It opened on March 27, 1999 under the official name Irwindale Speedway. Toyota purchased the naming rights to the facility in 2008, and from that time until 2011 it was also known as the Toyota Speedway at Irwindale. The speedway features banked, paved 1/2- and 1/3-mile oval tracks and a 1/8-mile drag strip. The property is primarily used for NASCAR races such as ARCA Menards Series West and Whelen All-American Series events. In late 2011, NASCAR announced it was dropping Toyota Speedway from its schedule. The company that managed the track, Irwindale Speedway LLC, filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy on February 13, 2012. Jason Bowles (born November 24, 1982) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He won the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West championship in 2009. Racing career Early career He made his NASCAR West Series debut in the No. 22 Sunrise Ford/Turbo Torq Ford in 2007, posting two wins – one at California Speedway and the other at Miller Motorsports Park – on his way to becoming Rookie of the Year. August "Auggie" Vidovich II (born February 20, 1981) is an American professional stock car racing driver. Racing career Vidovich was born in Lakeside, California. Vidovich has competed in the Elite Division Southwest Series for several years. He had a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start in 1998 and two starts in 1999. He won the Southwest Series championship in 2003, and finished second in 2000, 2001, and 2005. In 2005, Vidovich won the Toyota All-Star Challenge. Tim Schendel (born May 10, 1979) is an American professional stock car racing driver. A past winner of the Toyota All-Star Showdown and champion of the NASCAR Midwest Tour, he has also competed in the NASCAR Nationwide Series and the ASA Midwest Tour. Career Born in Sparta, Wisconsin on May 10, 1979, Schendel began competing in NASCAR-sanctioned competition in 2000, racing locally at the La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway.
