Tortilla Wall
The Tortilla Wall is a term given to a 14-mile (22.5 kilometer) section of United States United States-Mexico barrier, border fence between the Otay Mesa Border Crossing in San Diego, San Diego, California and the Pacific Ocean. This "San Diego wall" was completed in the early 1990s. While there are other walls at various points along the border, the Tortilla Wall is the longest to date. No other wall sections have evolved distinct names, so ''The Tortilla Wall'' is often used to describe the entire set of walled defensive structures. The Tortilla Wall is marked with graffiti, crosses, photos, pictures and remembrances of Migrant deaths along the Mexico-U.S. border, migrants who died trying to illegal entry, illegally enter the United States. Ed Royce (politician)
Edward Randall Royce (born October 12, 1951) is an American politician who served as a member of the United States House of Representatives from California from 1993 to 2019. A member of the Republican Party, Royce served as Chairman of the United States House Committee on Foreign Affairs from 2013 to 2019. He previously served as a member of the California Senate from 1982 to 1993. He was reelected to his seat in 2016, having spent over $3.5 million on his campaign. On January 8, 2018, Royce announced that he would retire from Congress at the end of his term and not run for reelection in 2018. The Roosevelt Reservation is the -wide strip of land owned by the United States Federal Government along the United States side of the United States–Mexico Border in three of the four border states. Federal and tribal lands make up , or approximately 33 percent, of the nearly total. Private and state-owned lands constitute the remaining 67 percent of the border, most of which is located in Texas. Border Field State Park
Border Field State Park is a state park of California, United States, containing beach and coastal habitat on the Mexico–United States border. The park is within the city limits of Imperial Beach in San Diego County, next to the suburb of Playas de Tijuana in Mexico. It contains the southernmost point in the state of California. The human cannonball act is a performance in which a person who acts as the "cannonball" is ejected from a specially designed cannon. The human cannonball lands on a horizontal net or inflated bag placed at the landing point, as predicted by physics. Outdoor performances may aim at a body of water. Secure Fence Act Of 2006
The Secure Fence Act of 2006 (), also labelled H.R. 6061, is an act of the United States Congress which authorized and partially funded the construction of 700 miles (1,125 km) of fencing along the Mexican border. The Act was signed into law on October 26, 2006, by U.S. President George W. Bush, who stated at the time that the Act would "help protect the American people", would "make our borders more secure", and was "an important step toward immigration reform".
