Torneo De Las Naciones
The Torneo de las Naciones (''Nations Tournament'') is a friendly basketball tournament held in Spain co-organized by the basketball federations of Basque Country, Catalonia and Galicia. This three regional teams participate each year in a Final Four format with an invited national team. The players in the tournament are not identified with the Spain men's national basketball team The Spain men's national basketball team ( es, Selección Española de Baloncesto) represents Spain in international basketball competitions. Catalonia National Basketball Team
The Catalonia autonomous basketball team is the basketball team of Catalonia. The team is not affiliated to FIBA, so only plays friendly games. Last appear was in summer 2010, in the Torneo de las Naciones. Catalonia won this tournament. History Catalonia started to play in 1927 a friendly game against Hindú Club of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Javier Salgado Martín, more commonly known as Javi Salgado, is a retired Spanish professional basketball player. Early career After being formed at Maristas school in Bilbao, Salgado started his career at SD Patronato in 1998. The next year, he signed with Baloncesto León, to play in the club's reserve team (Elmar León), in the Liga EBA, in that time the Spanish third division. Professional career In 2001, Salgado joined the newly created team in his native town: Bilbao Basket.
