Torgny Anderberg
Torgny Anderberg (25 February 1919 – 6 November 2000) was a Swedish actor and film director. He appeared in more than 25 films and television shows between 1944 and 1993. Anderberg was an avid documentary filmmaker parallel to his work in fiction films. His documentary work is arguably comparable to that of the enthofiction of Jean Rouch, as his early documentaries melded documentary and fiction film strategies in their discourse. A similar rhetoric is also found in his later work. Anderberg made frequent trips to Latin America following the production of ''Anaconda'', documenting encounters with indigenous people of the jungles, something he did up to his final film Kondormannen 2003. He collaborated several times with explorer Rolf Blomberg on a series of features and short films with an ethnographic content. Torgny Lindgren
Gustav Torgny Lindgren (16 June 1938 – 16 March 2017) was a Swedish writer. Lindgren was the son of Andreas Lindgren and Helga Björk. He studied in Umeå to become a teacher and worked as a teacher until the middle of the 1970s. For several years he was active as a local politician for the Swedish Social Democratic Party. In the 1980s he converted to the Catholic faith. Lindgren began as a poet in 1965 but had to wait until 1982 for his breakthrough, with the novel ''The Way of a Serpent'' (Swedish: ''Ormens väg på hälleberget''). Lindgren's work was translated into more than thirty languages and was one of Sweden's most internationally successful contemporary writers. He became a member of the Swedish Academy in 1991. Torgny Mogren
Torgny Mogren (born 26 July 1963) is a Swedish former cross-country skier who competed from 1984 to 1998. He won the gold medal in the 4 × 10 km relay at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary. His best individual finish was a fifth in the combined pursuit at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville. Mogren's biggest successes occurred at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships where he earned nine medals. This included four golds (4 × 10 km relay: 1987, 1989; 50 km: 1991, 1993), three silvers (15 km, 30 km: both 1989; 4 × 10 km relay: 1991), and two bronzes (50 km: 1987, 10 km: 1991). He won the overall World Cup in 1986–87, and ended five times in the top three overall. He competed for the club Åsarna IK throughout his career. Torgny Säve-Söderbergh
Torgny Säve-Söderbergh (born 29 June 1914 in Lund; died 21 May 1998 in Uppsala) was a Swedish writer, translator, and professor of Egyptology at Uppsala University from 1950 to 1980. He was the younger brother of paleontologist Gunnar Säve-Söderbergh. Education and career Torgny Säve-Söderbergh was born in Lund on 29 June 1914 to Gotthard Söderbergh and Anna Säve. Säve-Söderbergh studied at the University of Göttingen. He then attended the Uppsala University for his doctoral studies and was awarded his doctorate at the age of 27 for his thesis ''Ägypten und Nubien'' (1941, written in German). Torgny Karl Segerstedt (1 November 1876 – 31 March 1945) was a Swedish professor and scholar of comparative religion, who later became editor-in-chief of the newspaper ''Göteborgs Handels- och Sjöfartstidning''. He is most remembered for his uncompromising anti-Nazi stance and his efforts to alert the Swedish public to the threat of Fascism during the 1930s. Biography Torgny Segerstedt was born at Karlstad in Värmland County, Sweden. He was the son of the teacher and publicist Albrekt Segerstedt (1844–1894) and Fredrika Sofia Bohman (died 1884).
