Toppserien Players
The Toppserien is the top level of women's association football in Norway. It was founded in 1984. History Women's league football was introduced on a county basis in 1977. These leagues acted as qualification for the regional (South) league in 1979. Regional leagues were in operation until the formation of the First Division 1984, when the league was divided into three regions, Group Eastern-Norway (''Østlandet''), Group Western-Norway (''Vestlandet''), and Group Mid-Norway (''Trøndelag''). No teams from Northern-Norway (''Nord-Norge'') played, however. The winners of the three groups met each other for a play-off. Regional leagues for women had been played before 1984, and a championship play-off had been done between the winners of Mid-Norway and Eastern-Norway in 1983 (Trondheims-Ørn beat Setskog 2-1), but this championship was considered unofficial by the Football Association of Norway. UEFA

Asker Fotball
Asker Fotball is the football department of Norwegian sports club Asker SK from Asker. The women's football team is one of the most successful clubs ever in Norway, with 6 top flight championships and 5 cup championships. Due to financial difficulties at the end of 2008, the team's licence to play in the Toppserien was revoked; the team members then joined Stabæk IF's football group, Stabæk Fotball, which set up a new women's team. NFF gave Asker's place in the Toppserien to Stabæk Fotball. Asker's second team became Asker's first team, playing in the 2. divisjon, and they now have a recruiting arrangement with Stabæk Fotball. The men's team currently play in the 3. divisjon, the fourth tier of the Norwegian football league system. Klepp IL
Klepp IL is a Norwegian sports club from the municipality of Klepp. It was founded on 1 October 1919, and has sections for football, handball and gymnastics as well as the less active sections for athletics and orienteering. Best known for their women's football team, Klepp Elite women currently play in the Toppserien, and have the distinction of being in the Norwegian top flight since its inception. Additionally, Klepp Elite have won the league in 1987 and 1989. Klepp Elite have also won the National Championship Norgesmester for Junior Girls U19 more than any other club, winning in 2008, 2011, 2016, 2018 and most recently in 2019. Among its most famous former players are Birthe Hegstad, Dagny Mellgren and Ane Stangeland Horpestad. Avaldsnes IL
Avaldsnes Idrettslag is a Norwegian sports club from Avaldsnes, Karmøy, Rogaland. It was founded on 16 June 1937. The club has sections for football and handball. Women's football The women's team began play in 1989, winning the 1st Division of West Norway in 1997, before the team was dissolved in 1999 and then resurrected in 2002. The women's football team currently plays in the Toppserien, the first tier of Norwegian women's football, after promotion from the First Division in 2012, becoming the first club from Karmøy to play in the top league of any sport in Norway. They reached the final of the Norwegian Women's Cup in 2013 and 2015 but lost in the final both times. The footballer Cecilie Pedersen has previously represented Norway while playing for Avaldsnes. The 2014 Toppserien is the twenty-eighth season of top-tier women's football in Norway since its establishment in 1987. A total of 12 teams are contesting the league, eleven returning from the 2013 season and the one teams promoted from the First Division, Grand Bodø. Røa IL
Røa IL is a Norwegian sports club from Røa in the borough of Vestre Aker, Oslo. It was founded on 11 November 1900, and has sections for football, gymnastics, bandy, and cross-country skiing. Football, bandy, and Nordic skiing have been dominant in Røa. In bandy, the team has twice made it to the finals in the Norwegian cup, losing both to arch-rivals Stabæk. In skiing, the two foremost names are Olav Hansson, world champion team large hill ski jumping in the 1982 World Ski Championships and Martin Johnsrud Sundby, a Norwegian national team cross-country skier who won the FIS Cross-Country World Cup and the Tour de Ski in 2013–14. The biggest success so far is probably the women's football team. While Røa was open for women participating in handball and gymnastics, football was frowned upon for quite some time. 2010 Toppserien
The 2010 Toppserien was the twenty-fourth season of top-tier women's football in Norway since its establishment in 1987. A total of twelve teams contested the league, consisting of ten who competed in the previous season and two promoted from the 1. divisjon. The season ran from 5 April to 11 November 2010, and was won by Stabæk, their first ever title. As champions, they also qualified for the Round of 32 of the 2011-12 UEFA Women's Champions League. Stabæk completed the entire season undefeated, and were confirmed as league champions on the penultimate day after beating Trondheims-Ørn 3–0, at the same time as runners-up Røa lost 0–4 to Kolbotn. The roles were thus reversed from the previous season, when Røa won the league ahead of Stabæk. Kolbotn once again finished third after winning 2–0 against Arna-Bjørnar in the final round. 2009 Toppserien
The 2009 Toppserien was the twenty-third season of top-tier women's football in Norway since its establishment in 1987. A total of twelve teams contested the league, consisting of ten who competed in the previous season and two promoted from the 1. divisjon. Running from 13 April to 31 October 2009, it was won by Røa for the third consecutive year. As winners, Røa qualified for the Round of 32 of the 2010–11 UEFA Women's Champions League as the sole representative from Norway. Because Norway had dropped to ninth place in the UEFA coefficient rankings for 2010–11, the runners-up in the Toppserien could no longer enter the Qualifying Round of the Champions League, as had been the case in the previous season. Stabæk IF
Stabæk Idrætsforening is a Norwegian multi-sports club in Bærum, a municipality bordering on Oslo in the west. It has sections for football, bandy, handball and alpine skiing. While the football team Stabæk Fotball is the most prominent, the men's bandy team has taken multiple national championships. The women's handball team plays in the first tier of Norwegian handball, and the men's team on the third tier. The club formerly had sections for athletics, sport shooting and orienteering.
