Stabæk IF
Stabæk Idrætsforening is a Norwegian multi-sports club in Bærum, a municipality bordering on Oslo in the west. It has sections for football, bandy, handball and alpine skiing. While the football team Stabæk Fotball is the most prominent, the men's bandy team has taken multiple national championships. The women's handball team plays in the first tier of Norwegian handball, and the men's team on the third tier. The club formerly had sections for athletics, sport shooting and orienteering. In early 2009 a new women's football team was started within Stabæk IF and was named Stabæk Fotball Kvinner, in reality a relocation of Asker Fotball's women's team. Bærum
Bærum () is a municipality in the Greater Oslo Region in Norway that forms an affluent suburb of Oslo on the west coast of the city. Bærum is Norway's fifth largest municipality with a population of 128,760 (2021). It is part of the electoral district and historical county of Akershus and of the newer Viken County. Arbeidernes Idrettsforbund
The Workers' Federation of Sports ( no, Arbeidernes Idrettsforbund), often just called the AIF, was a sporting organization in Norway between 1924 and 1946.Heinemann, Klaus. Karoline Charlotte Dyhre Breivang (born 10 May 1980) is a retired Norwegian handball player. She is a double Olympic gold medalist, a world champion and five time European champion. Telenor Arena
Telenor Arena, sometimes referred to as Fornebu Arena, is a multi-purpose indoor arena located at Fornebu in Bærum, outside Oslo, Norway. It serves as a venue for a variety of events, including concerts, exhibitions, action shows, family shows, TV and sport. It has a capacity for 15,000 spectators for sports and 25,000 for concerts, including 40 luxury boxes and club seating for 1,200. The venue has a fixed roof and an asphalt floor. The venue was opened ahead of the 2009 Norwegian football season as a replacement for Nadderud Stadion. Bekkestua
Bekkestua is a town in the municipality of Bærum, Norway, with a busy bus terminal and a station on one of Oslo's westbound T-bane lines, Kolsåsbanen. It also has its own library, police station and fire station. It has grown to be the second largest centre of the municipality after Sandvika, with small restaurants and shopping centres. Nadderud stadion (stadium), the home ground of the Stabæk Fotball association football club is at walking distance from Bekkestua. Nadderud
Nadderud is a district in eastern Bærum, Norway. It was formerly farmland under one of Bærum's larger farms, named Nadderud, but since the 1950s it has been built up with housing, several schools and sporting facilities. The best known facility, which has made the name Nadderud nationally known, is the stadium Nadderud stadion. Parts of the district Nadderud have been absorbed by the growing suburban centre Bekkestua. Ringstabekk
Ringstabekk is a district in Bærum, Norway. Named after the local farm, the district is also known for its schools and the sports field. The sports club Stabæk IF originates in the area. The farm The district originates from the farm Øvre Stabæk ('Upper Stabæk'), one of several farms in the Stabekk area. Antiquities from ancient times, such as axes and arrowheads, have been found there. The farm was owned by Hovedøya Monastery before the Reformation of 1536, and thereafter by the Crown. In 1661 it was registered with a private owner, and a series of owners followed until Jens Ring bought the farm in 1839. The farm was renamed Ring-Stabekk, or Ringstabekk, after Jens Ring. In 1826 it had been registered with three horses, ten cattle and twelve sheep. Arve Opsahl (14 May 1921 – 29 April 2007) was a Norwegian movie and stage actor, singer and stand-up comedian. Opsahl began his career as a comedian in 1942, and played numerous roles both on stage and in more than forty movies. He was then chosen to be the head of Olsenbanden, Egon Olsen. Svein Inge Valvik (born 20 September 1956) is a retired Norwegian discus thrower. He represented SK Vidar, IF Kamp-Vestheim, IK Tjalve, Stabæk IF and Urædd Friidrett, Urædd. Per Stavem (1 March 1926 – 24 September 2006) was a Norwegian shot putter and discus thrower. He represented Stabæk IF. Biography At the 1948 Summer Olympics he competed in the decathlon and finished eleventh with 6151 points. Skallum
Skallum is an area at Stabekk in Bærum, Norway. It was named after the historic estate Skallum (''Skallum Gård''). It is known locally for its art gallery and as a recreational area, and nationally as the site of an event in the closing days of World War II in Europe. Geography The area is located north of the commercial centre at Stabekk, but slightly south of Stabekk Primary School and the former college at Ringstabekk. Skallum distinguished from the surrounding area as it forms a small valley, a creek having run here in the past. The creek was a part of the Stabekk Watershed, which originated north of Øvrevoll Galloppbane and ran southwards via Voll, Jar, Jarmyra, Tjernsrud and Ringstabekk. The creek dropped into the valley as a waterfall right after crossing what today is the road ''Gamle Ringeriksvei''. The part of the creek that flowed into the Skallum area was named Skallumbekken.
