Tomball Independent School District
Tomball Independent School District is a K-12 education school district serving Tomball, Texas, United States as well as the surrounding area. Tomball ISD encompasses 83 square miles in northwest Harris County and southwest Montgomery County, and is located approximately 30 miles from downtown Houston. As of 2022, the district has over 20,000 students at 22 campuses. Tomball ISD serves students in northern Harris County and southwestern Montgomery County, Texas, including the City of Tomball, Lakewood Grove, Northepointe, Village Creek, Creekside Park Village (a section of The Woodlands), and the communities of Hufsmith, Decker Prairie, Pinehurst, and Rose Hill. Tomball, Texas
Tomball ( ) is a city in Harris County in the U.S. state of Texas, a part of the Houston metropolitan area. The population was 12,341 at the 2020 U.S. census. In 1907, the community of Peck was renamed Tomball for local congressman Thomas Henry Ball, who had a major role in the development of the Port of Houston. History Settlement began in the Tomball area in the early 19th century, where settlers found an open, fertile land that received adequate rainfall—perfect conditions for farming and raising cattle. It was on a land granted in 1838 to William Hurd's heirs. In 1906 the area began to boom. Railroad line engineers often noticed that the Tomball area was on the boundary between the low hills of Texas and the flat coastal plains of the Gulf, making it an ideal location for a train stop. Tomball Memorial High School (TMHS) is a senior high school in unincorporated Harris County, Texas, United States, south of the city of Tomball and in the Houston metropolitan area. It is a part of the Tomball Independent School District (TISD), and is the district's second high school. It is by Northpointe Lane and Northpointe Boulevard. History The school was built as part of a 2007 bond, worth $198 million in total, and had a cost of $59.2 million. It opened on August 12, 2011. Tomball High School
Tomball High School is an accredited public high school in the city of Tomball, Texas. It was the only high school in the Tomball Independent School District before the construction of Tomball Memorial High School in 2011. The high school was remodeled in 2005 and the cougar statue in front of the school was donated by an artist from Magnolia. History In 1908, school was first held in Tomball in the Woodmen of the World building, which was a one-room framed building that educated nearly 15 students. The community soon made plans to build a school. Land on Cherry Street was donated, and by 1910 a school was built. The two-story red brick schoolhouse, which was part of the Harris County School System, consisted of two classrooms downstairs and an auditorium upstairs. By 1916, 62 students attended the school. Lone Star College (LSC) is a public community college system serving the northern portions of the Greater Houston, Texas, area. In 2017 it enrolled about 95,000 students.
