Tom Price (South Australian Politician)
Thomas Price (19 January 1852 – 31 May 1909), commonly referred to as Tom Price, served as the Australian Labor Party (South Australian Branch), South Australian United Labor Party's first Premier of South Australia. He formed a minority government at the 1905 South Australian state election, 1905 election and was re-elected with increased representation at the 1906 South Australian state election, 1906 election, serving in the premiership until his death in 1909. It was the world's first stable Labor government. Shortly afterwards, John Verran led Labor to form the state's first of many majority governments at the 1910 South Australian state election, 1910 election. Tom Price (born January 28, 1956) is an Australian and American songwriter, conductor, and musical director best known for his work in choral and orchestral music. Biography As director of the international choir, The Voices of Bahá, he has directed public concerts in more than forty countries over the past twenty-five years, including performances in Carnegie Hall in New York, the Mozart Concert House in Vienna, the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow and dozens of other fine auditoriums throughout the world. Thomas Tannatt Pryce VC MC & Bar (17 January 1886 – 13 April 1918) was a British recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. An officer with the Grenadier Guards during the First World War, he was posthumously awarded the VC for his actions over the period 11 to 13 April 1918, during the German spring offensive. Thomas Maldwyn Pryce (11 June 1949 – 5 March 1977) was a British racing driver from Wales known for winning the Brands Hatch Race of Champions, a non-championship Formula One race, in 1975 and for the circumstances surrounding his death. Pryce is the only Welsh driver to have won a Formula One race and is also the only Welshman to lead a Formula One World Championship Grand Prix: two laps of the 1975 British Grand Prix. Pryce started his career in Formula One with the small Token team, making his only start for them at the 1974 Belgian Grand Prix. Shortly after winning the Formula Three support race for the 1974 Monaco Grand Prix, Pryce joined the Shadow team and scored his first points in Germany in only his fourth race. Tom Price is the highest town above sea level () in Western Australia, and is consequently dubbed "Top Town in WA".
