Todd Smith (politician)
Todd Andrew Smith (born October 7, 1970) is a Canadian politician who has been the Ontario Minister of Energy since June 18, 2021. He has been the member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) for Bay of Quinte since 2018, and previously represented Prince Edward—Hastings from 2011 to 2018. Smith is a member of the Progressive Conservative party and has held a number of cabinet positions throughout his time in government. Smith previously served as Minister of Government and Consumer Services from June to November 2018; Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade from November 2018 to June 2019; Ontario Government House Leader from June 2018 to June 2019; and Minister of Children, Community and Social Services from June 2019 to June 2021. 2011 Ontario General Election
The 2011 Ontario general election was held on October 6, 2011, to elect members of the 40th Legislative Assembly of Ontario. The Ontario Liberal Party was elected to a minority government, with the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario (PC Party) serving as the Official Opposition and the Ontario New Democratic Party (NDP) serving as a third party. In the final result, Premier McGuinty's party fell one seat short of winning a majority government. Under amendments passed by the Legislature in December 2005, Ontario elections are now held on fixed dates: the first Thursday of October every four years. CJTN-FM is a radio station in Trenton, Ontario, broadcasting on the assigned frequency of 107.1 MHz, serving Belleville the Quinte region. Owned by Quinte Broadcasting, the station airs a classic rock music format branded as ''Rock 107''. History The station began broadcasting at 1270 kHz on January 22, 1979, at a power of 1000 watts, to service Trenton; hence the TN in the call sign. Ted Snider was the station's first manager. CIGL-FM is a Canadian radio station, broadcasting on the assigned frequency of 97.1 MHz in Belleville, Ontario, with the on-air branding of ''Mix 97''. It airs a hot adult contemporary format. History The station first started in 1962 as CJBQ-FM, then changed its callsign to CIGL-FM in 1978. The former CJBQ callsign currently belongs to its sister station CJBQ. The call letters CIGL were often featured with seagulls in logos and advertisements, leading many to conclude that the call letters were a short form for "seagull". CJBQ
CJBQ is a Canadian radio station licensed at Belleville, Ontario. It is owned by Quinte Broadcasting along with CIGL-FM and CJTN-FM. CJBQ broadcasts at 800 kHz at a power of 10 kW. The transmitter is located in Prince Edward County. The antenna is a six-tower array with differing patterns day and night, to protect Class-A clear-channel station XEROK-AM in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, as well as other Canadian and U.S. stations on the same frequency.
