Tiffany Chin
Audrey Tiffany Chin (born October 3, 1967) is an American figure skating coach and former competitor. She is a two-time World bronze medalist (1985–1986), a two-time Skate America champion (1983, 1986), and the 1985 U.S. national champion. Personal life Chin was born on October 3, 1967, in Oakland, California. She grew up in San Diego, California. She graduated with a BA in English from University of California, Los Angeles. Her son, Kyle Kan, was born in February 2004. Career Early career Chin won the 1981 World Junior Championships, held in December 1980 in London, Ontario, Canada. Originally trained by Mabel Fairbanks as a young child, Chin switched to Janet Champion under the recommendation of Fairbanks. Her mother, Marjorie, later fired Champion and had her daughter train with Frank Carroll, who led Chin to her World Junior title. Frank Carroll (figure Skater)
Francis M. "Frank" Carroll (born 1938) is an American figure skating coach and former competitive skater. He has coached three skaters to win the World Figure Skating Championships: Linda Fratianne, Michelle Kwan, and Evan Lysacek. Lysacek won the men's Olympic gold medal in 2010 at Vancouver. Carroll has been inducted into the World Figure Skating Hall of Fame, the United States Figure Skating Hall of Fame, the Professional Skaters Association Coaches Hall of Fame, and was the 1997 Olympic Coach of the Year. Elizabeth Manley
Elizabeth Ann Manley, CM (born August 7, 1965) is a Canadian former competitive figure skater. She is the 1988 Olympic silver medallist, the 1988 World silver medalist and a three-time Canadian national champion. Early life and training Manley was born in 1965 in Trenton, Ontario, the fourth child and only daughter in her family. Her father's military career necessitated occasionally moving, and when Manley was nine years old, her family moved from Trenton to Ottawa. After her parents' divorce in the 1970s, she was raised by her mother, Joan. Competitive career Manley began skating at an early age. Her mother invested time and money in her daughter's figure skating career. Manley won the bronze medal at the 1982 World Junior Championships in Oberstdorf, Germany. Caryn Kadavy
Caryn Kadavy (born December 9, 1967) is an American professional figure skater and former competitor. She is the 1987 World bronze medalist and a four-time U.S. national medalist. She also competed at the 1988 Winter Olympics. Career Kadavy was born in Erie, Pennsylvania. As an amateur, she won medals at the U.S. Championships four years in a row, including silver in 1986. She won several competitions in 1985: the U.S. Olympic Festival, Skate Canada International, and the Moscow News Cup. Debra Janine Thomas (born March 25, 1967) is an American former figure skater and physician. She is the 1986 World champion, the 1988 Olympic bronze medalist, and a two-time U.S. national champion. Her rivalry with East Germany's Katarina Witt at the 1988 Calgary Olympics was known as the Battle of the Carmens. Don Laws
Don Laws (May 30, 1929 – December 2, 2014) was an American figure skater and coach. Personal life Don Laws was born on May 30, 1929 in Washington, D.C. He had a brother, Willard Laws, and sister, Laura Keesling. In 1951, he joined the United States Army Security Agency. Laws died of heart failure on December 2, 2014 in Sandy Spring, Maryland. Career Don Laws competed in single skating and ice dancing. With his ice dancing partner, Mary Firth, he won the U.S. junior title in 1948. In men's singles, he won the 1950 U.S. junior title and placed seventh at the 1951 World Championships in Milan, Italy. He was coached by Osborne Colson. Midori Ito
is a Japanese former figure skater. She is the 1989 World champion and the 1992 Olympic silver medalist. She is the first woman to land a triple-triple jump combination and a triple Axel in competition. At the 1988 Calgary Olympics, she became the first woman to land seven triple jumps in an Olympic free skating competition. She is widely recognised as one of the best figure skaters of all time.
