Tiago Apolónia
Tiago André Barata Feio Peixoto Apolónia (born 28 July 1986) is a Portuguese table tennis player for German club TTF LIEBHERR Ochsenhausen and Portugal. As of August 2016, he is ranked the number eighteenth player in the world. Career Born in Lisbon, Apolónia began playing table tennis aged six at his hometown club Estrela da Amadora. As a youth player, he was crowned European Junior Doubles champion in 2004 and won a silver medal in the Doubles competition at the Junior World Championships in 2003, both partnering Marcos Freitas. After playing for German clubs TTC indeland Jülich, 1. FC Saarbrücken and TTF LIEBHERR Ochsenhausen, he arrived at his current club TTC Neu-Ulm in 2019. In 2006, he won his first ITTF Pro Tour Doubles title in São Paulo, partnering João Monteiro. Ochsenhausen
Ochsenhausen () is a city in the district of Biberach, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is located between the city of Biberach and Memmingen. it has a population of 8,916. Timo Boll
Timo Boll (, ; born 8 March 1981) is a German professional table tennis player, who currently plays for Borussia Düsseldorf. He is ranked second in the German Table Tennis National League, and fifteen in the ITTF world rankings as of October 2022. Boll ranks among the best German table tennis players of all time, having ranked world No. 1 in 2003, 2011 and in March 2018. Childhood Boll was born in Erbach im Odenwald, Hessen. Boll started playing at age 4, and was coached at the time by his father. In 1987, he became a member of TSV Höchst. At age 8, he was discovered by Helmut Hampel, a Hessian trainer who promoted him. João Pedro Andrade Selgas Monteiro (born 29 August 1983) is a Portuguese table tennis player. At the 2015 European Championships, he won the gold medal in the Doubles competition. He also competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the Table tennis at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Men's singles, Men's singles, but was defeated in the second round. This was a round further than he managed at the 2008 Summer Olympics. João Monteiro practices at the Werner Schlager Academy in Schwechat, Austria since the opening in 2011. ITTF World Tour
The ITTF World Tour, known as the ITTF Pro Tour until 2011, is an annual series of table tennis tournaments introduced by International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) in 1996. The tour includes events in seven categories: Men's and Women's Singles, Men's, Women's, and Mixed Doubles, and Under-21 Men's and Women's Singles. The tour has its own points system, with players accumulating points based on their performances in the tournaments they enter. Since 2017, the ITTF also announced that the World Tour would be split into two tiers, with six World Tour Platinum, the new top tier of World Tour, and six regular World Tour events. The players who gain the most points in each of the seven different categories will be invited to participate in the ITTF World Tour Grand Finals at the end of the year. Marcos Freitas
Marcos André Sousa da Silva Freitas (born 8 April 1988) is a Portuguese table tennis player who has won European Championships in singles, doubles, and team events. He participated at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing where he got knocked out in the Round of 64. In the same year he won the bronze medal in the men's doubles at the European Championship with Tiago Apolónia. Three years later at the 2011 Table Tennis European Championships he went on to win the gold medal with his doubles partner Andrej Gaćina. In 2012 he took part on his second Olympics, reaching the Round of 32 in the singles and the quarterfinals in the team event with Tiago Apolónia and João Monteiro. World Junior Table Tennis Championships
The ITTF World Youth Championships is an annual table tennis competition for juniors under 19 and under 15. From 2003 to 2019, the World Junior Table Tennis Championships was held for juniors under 18. The ITTF changed the U18 age group into U19 in 2020, and implemented the new World Youth Championships for U19 and U15 in 2021. The World Youth Championships is currently composed of two team events and five individual events in each of the U19 and U15 age groups. Table Tennis European Youth Championships
The European Youth Table Tennis Championships are held among cadets (under 15) and juniors (under 18). The first edition of the tournament was held in 1955 in Stuttgart and since then is held yearly in most cases. Currently, the championships include team, doubles and singles events for both genders and age classes as well as a mixed doubles event. There are also consolation events for players defeated in the qualifying stages and in the first round of the singles events. The final ranking of the junior boys' and girls' team events determines the qualification for the same year's World Youth Championships. Club Football Estrela da Amadora (), sometimes just Estrela, is a Portuguese sports club (predominantly football) based in Amadora, northwest of Lisbon. It's the successor of Clube de Futebol Estrela da Amadora, founded in 1932 and extinct in 2011 due to financial problems and bankruptcy.
