Schwechat
Schwechat () is a town southeast of Vienna known for the Vienna International Airport and Schwechater beer. The city is home to the refineries of the Austrian national oil company OMV. Geography Schwechat is named after the river Schwechat, which flows through the centre of town. The city subdivisions, called Katastralgemeinde (Cadastre), are Kledering, Mannswörth, Rannersdorf and Schwechat. Population History Home to the settlement Ala Nova of the Roman Empire, the city was first mentioned in a document in 1334. Daniel Habesohn (born 22 July 1986 in Vienna) is an Austrian table tennis player. He competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics as part of the Austrian team in the men's team event. Robert Gardos ( hu, Gárdos Róbert, ; born 16 January 1979 in Budapest) is a Hungarian-born Austrian table tennis player, European Champion and Olympic participant. He plays for the French club Chartres ASTT. Since the opening in 2011, Robert Gardos practices at the Werner Schlager Academy in Schwechat, Austria. Career Early career Gardos was born on 16 January 1979 in Budapest, Hungary. He began playing table tennis in his hometown club Budapesti VSC where his father, Gábor Gárdos worked as a coach. In 1993 Gardos won the European Youth Championship in singles and in mixed doubles on the side of Mihaela Encea in the cadet category. Tan Ruiwu (born 30 June 1983) is a Croatian table tennis player of Chinese origin. As of December 2012, he is ranked no. 48 in the world by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF). He is also left-handed, and uses the shakehand grip. Tan represented his adopted nation Croatia at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where he competed for the singles and team events. In his first event, men's singles, Tan received two byes in the preliminary rounds, before defeating Japan's Seiya Kishikawa, Singapore's Gao Ning, and Hong Kong's Li Ching. Alexey Smirnov (born October 9, 1977) is a male table tennis player from Russia. Since 2003 he won several medals in doubles events in the Table Tennis European Championships. He also won the gold medal at the Europe Top-12 in 2005 at Rennes. He is also a multiple Russian national champion – four times in Men Singles and five in Men Doubles. He was also part of the winning cadet European Youth Championship team in 1992, as well as being the winner of the men's singles, the men's doubles and the mixed doubles at the junior level at the 1995 European Youth Championships. He also won the junior men's doubles at the 1994 European Youth Championships. In May 2011 he qualified for the London 2012 Olympic Games via his world ranking for June 2011. Alexander Igorevich Shibaev (russian: Александр Игоревич Шибаев; born 9 September 1990 in Yaroslavl) is a Russian table tennis player. He won the doubles crown with Alexey Smirnov at the 2010 Slovenian Open. In 2011, he won a silver medal with Kirill Skachkov in the double event at the European Championships. His first appearance in a singles final on the ITTF World Tour was at the 2011 Polish Open.
