Thy Will Be Done
Thy Will Be Done is an American heavy metal band formed in 2005 from Providence, Rhode Island. The ensemble has released the studio albums ''Was and Is to Come'' and ''In Ancient of Days'' via Stillborn Records, as well as the EP ''Temple'' via Eye.On Lion Recordings. The band toured with DevilDriver, Suffocation, and Goatwhore with fill-in bassist Jeff Golden who would later go on to join Crowbar. In 2012, the band performed with Metallica at Orion Music + More, as well as ''Party to the Apocalypse 2012'' starring Shadows Fall, God Forbid and Trumpet the Harlot. In December 2015, Thy Will Be Done had been working on the follow-up to their ''Temple'' EP when the band's drummer, Jay Waterman, suffered cardiac arrest amidst tracking the band's new album, resulting in a two-year break from performances for the band. Cardiac arrest is when the heart suddenly and unexpectedly stops beating. It is a medical emergency that, without immediate medical intervention, will result in sudden cardiac death within minutes. God Forbid is an American heavy metal band formed in East Brunswick, New Jersey in 1996. Shadows Fall is an American metalcore band from Boston, Massachusetts, formed in 1996. The Orion Music + More was a touring music festival created by American thrash metal/ heavy metal band Metallica. On February 7, 2012, the band announced plans to launch the festival, which took place at Bader Field in Atlantic City on June 23 and 24, 2012. Crowbar is an American sludge metal band formed in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1990. The band is fronted by vocalist/guitarist Kirk Windstein, Crowbar's sole constant member. Groove Metal
Groove metal is a subgenre of heavy metal music that began in the early 1990s. The genre achieved success in the 1990s and continued having success in the 2000s. Inspired by thrash metal and traditional heavy metal, groove metal features raspy singing and screaming, down-tuned guitars, heavy guitar riffs, and syncopated rhythms. Goatwhore is an American extreme metal band formed in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1997. Biography Goatwhore was formed by guitarist/backing vocalist Sammy Duet, who was previously the lead guitarist for Louisiana sludge metal band Acid Bath. The band's origins can date back to 1991 with Sammy and drummer Zak Nolan. The band was at the time called "Killgore" with Duet on lead guitar and vocals and Zak Nolan on drums. Killgore would release a number of demos up until 1997 when they changed their name to Goatwhore, after Acid Bath dissolved due to the death of bassist Audie Pitre.
