Thunder Creek (1975–2016 Electoral District)
Thunder Creek was a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, Canada. Originally created for the 3rd Saskatchewan general election in 1912 and abolished in 1938, this constituency was reconstituted for the 18th Saskatchewan general election in 1975. It was abolished a second time in 2016, with most of the constituency being re-distributed into the new electoral district of Lumsden-Morse. Communities in the district included the towns of Lumsden, Caronport, Regina Beach, Morse, Craik and Herbert; and the villages of Central Butte, Chaplin, Elbow, Mortlach, Riverhurst, Waldeck, Eyebrow and Bethune. This constituency was created from the riding of Bengough and parts of other ridings before the 1971 Saskatchewan general election. Milestone is a former provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of the province of Saskatchewan, Canada, south of Regina. Originally named "South Regina", this constituency was one of 25 created for the 1st Saskatchewan general election in 1905; although a riding of that name had been contested in the North-West Territories since 1888. It was dissolved and merged with the Bengough district (as Bengough-Milestone) and parts of Thunder Creek and Qu'Appelle before the 18th Saskatchewan general election in 1975. Arm River is a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, Canada. This constituency is located in south central Saskatchewan. Revived as a result of the 2013 revision of Saskatchewan's electoral districts, it was last contested in the 2020 election. Arm River was originally created before the 2nd Saskatchewan general election in 1908. Lumsden (electoral District)
Lumsden was a provincial electoral division for the Legislative Assembly of the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. The district was one of 25 created before the 1st Saskatchewan general election in 1905. It was the riding of Premier Thomas Walter Scott. The Lumsden constituency was renamed "Regina County" between the 1908 election and the 1912 election. Redrawn to include the area of the abolished district of North Qu'Appelle in 1934, the constituency was renamed "Qu'Appelle". Bethune, Saskatchewan
Bethune ( 2016 population: ) is a village in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan within the Rural Municipality of Dufferin No. 190 and Census Division No. 6. The village is north-west of Regina on Highway 11 (Louis Riel Trail). Arm River flows along a river valley north of Bethune, which features camping sites, and the Qu'Appelle River is a short way south. Last Mountain Lake or Long Lake is north-east of Bethune whereas Buffalo Pound Lake is just south-west. Eyebrow ( 2016 population: ) is a village in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan within the Rural Municipality of Eyebrow No. 193 and Census Division No. 7. The community originated at the location that is now the abandoned community of Eskbank several kilometres to the south. Eyebrow is located at the intersection of Highway 367 and Highway 42; 84 km northwest of Moose Jaw, 154 km northwest of Regina and 196 km south of Saskatoon. History A post office was established in 1904 called Eyebrow Hill located just south in Sec.12, Twp.20, R.2, W3 of the Dominion Land Survey. Eyebrow Hill was renamed Eskbank in 1908. Waldeck ( 2016 population: ) is a village in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan within the Rural Municipality of Excelsior No. 166 and Census Division No. 7. Waldeck is 18 kilometres northeast of the City of Swift Current on the Trans-Canada Highway. Waldeck is situated in the Swift Current River Valley. History Waldeck is a German word meaning "Wooded Corner"; the community is probably named after the willows that grew along the banks of the Swift Current Creek. In 1903 the Canadian Government opened to settlement a tract of land from Swift Current Creek to Herbert. Among the first settlers were Rev. Klaas Peters and Mr. Abraham (probably Abram Klassen) in 1908. Waldeck incorporated as a village on December 23, 1913. The majority of the people in and around Waldeck are of Mennonite ancestry.
