Thomas Scheen Falck
Thomas Scheen Falck, Jr. (19 February 1892 – 1 November 1972) was a Norwegian ship-owner. Biography He was born at Stavanger in Rogaland as a son of ship-owner and consul Hans Lindahl Falck (1863–1937) and Karen Johanne Poulsson (1866–1952). He was an uncle of Einar Falck. He finished his secondary education at Bergen Handelsgymnasium in 1909 and took a business education in Cologne in 1911. He worked in Kronstadt and St. Petersburg from 1912 to 1918; the last three years as co-owner of the transport company Ejbøl, Falck & Co. He became director of the foreign department in Bergenske Dampskibsselskab in 1918, and was promoted to sub-director in 1929 and director in 1933. In 1943 he finally took over as chief executive officer, succeeding Einar Joys. He remained chief executive of Bergenske Dampskibsselskab until 1960, and then chaired the company until 1963. Hans Lindahl Falck
Hans Lindahl Falck (19 March 1863 – 1937) was a Norwegian ship-owner and politician. He was born in Stavanger as a son of Thomas Scheen Falck, Sr. (1829–1889) and Anna Lindahl (1842–1921). He was a brother of consul Christian Fredrik Falck. In 1890 he married Karen Johanne Poulsson. Their son Thomas Scheen Falck, Jr. became a notable ship-owner. Falck took commercial education in Germany, England, France and the United States. He then started a career in the family company ''Ths. S. Falck'' in 1888, and advanced to co-owner in 1889. Falck was elected as a deputy representative to the Parliament of Norway from ''Stavanger og Haugesund'' during the term 1895–1897. The Special Intelligence Service was a covert counterintelligence branch of the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) located in South America during World War II. It was established to monitor the activities of Nazi and pro-Nazi groups in Central and South America. The organization was a forerunner to the Central Intelligence Agency. In 1934, US President Franklin D. Roosevelt became concerned about the activities of Nazi groups within the United States. The FBI was ordered to begin investigating these groups operating within the country. The goal of this work was to determine if foreign agents were working within these pro-Nazi groups. Order Of Leopold II
The Order of Leopold II is an order of Belgium and is named in honor of King Leopold II. The decoration was established on 24 August 1900 by Leopold II as Sovereign of the Congo Free State and was in 1908, upon Congo being handed over to Belgium, incorporated into the Belgian awards system. The order is awarded for meritorious service to the sovereign of Belgium, and as a token of his personal goodwill. It can be awarded to both Belgians and foreigners, and is seen as diplomatic gift of merit. The Royal Order of Vasa () is a Swedish order of chivalry, awarded to citizens of Sweden for service to state and society especially in the fields of agriculture, mining and commerce. It was instituted on 29 May 1772 by King Gustav III. It was unrestricted by birth or education and could therefore be awarded to anyone (as opposed to the Order of the Polar Star, which was intended as a reward for the learned professions). The Order of the Crown of Italy ( it, Ordine della Corona d'Italia, italic=no or OCI) was founded as a national order in 1868 by King Vittorio Emanuele II, to commemorate the unification of Italy in 1861. It was awarded in five degrees for civilian and military merit. Today the Order of the Crown has been replaced by the Order of Merit of Savoy and is still conferred on new knights by the current head of the house of Vittorio Emanuele, Prince of Naples. The Order of the Dannebrog ( da, Dannebrogordenen) is a Danish order of chivalry instituted in 1671 by Christian V. Until 1808, membership in the order was limited to fifty members of noble or royal rank, who formed a single class known as ''White Knights'' to distinguish them from the ''Blue Knights'' who were members of the Order of the Elephant. In 1808, the Order was reformed and divided into four classes. The ''Grand Commander'' class is reserved to persons of princely origin. It is awarded only to royalty with close family ties with the Danish Royal House.
