Theobald Butler Barrett
Theobald Butler Barrett (July 24, 1894 – March 26, 1969) was a Canadian politician. He was elected to the House of Commons of Canada in 1945 as a Member of the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada to represent the riding of Norfolk. He was defeated in the 1949 election. Prior to his federal political experience, he was a Lieutenant in the Royal Canadian Artillery between 1942 and 1943. Norfolk (electoral District)
Norfolk was a federal electoral district represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1904 to 1925. It was located in the province of Ontario. This riding was first created in 1903 from Norfolk North and Norfolk South ridings. It consisted of the county of Norfolk. The electoral district was abolished in 1924 when it was merged into Norfolk—Elgin riding. It was recreated in 1933, again consisting of the county of Norfolk. The electoral district was abolished in 1966 when it was merged into Norfolk—Haldimand riding. William Horace Taylor
William Horace Taylor (7 December 1889 – 20 June 1986) was a Canadian politician. Born in Townsend Township, Ontario, he grew up on a farm near Scotland, Ontario, south of Brantford, Ontario. From 1921 to 1925, he was a farmer in Scotland. He was elected a councillor and later the reeve of Windham Township. Raymond Elmer Anderson (July 7, 1891 – August 6, 1970) was a Canadian politician elected to the House of Commons of Canada in 1949 and 1953 as a member of the Liberal Party representing the riding of Norfolk. The 1949 Canadian federal election was held June 27, 1949 to elect members of the House of Commons of Canada of the 21st Parliament of Canada. The Liberal Party of Canada was re-elected with its fourth consecutive government, winning 191 seats (73 percent of the seats in the House of Commons), with just under 50 percent of the popular vote. It was the Liberals' first election in almost thirty years not under the leadership William Lyon Mackenzie King. King had retired in 1948, and was replaced as Liberal leader and Prime Minister by Louis St. Laurent.
