The Wild Goose Lake
''The Wild Goose Lake'' () is a 2019 Chinese neo-noir crime thriller directed by Diao Yinan and starring Hu Ge, Gwei Lun-mei, Liao Fan, and Wan Qian. It garnered $31 million at the box office and was selected to compete for the Palme d'Or at the 2019 edition of Cannes Film Festival. Plot The film opens with Zhou Zenong (Hu Ge) meeting with Liu Aiai (Gwei Lun-Mei) at a train station. Zhou is expecting to meeting with his wife, Shujun (Wan Qian) but Liu Aiai has been sent instead by Huahua (Qi Dao) an associate of Zhou's. Zhou recounts that he is the leader of a small gang who steals motorbikes. One of his subordinates, Red hair, shot a rival in the leg during an argument about territory. Diao Yinan
Diao Yinan (; born 1969 in Xi'an, Shaanxi) is a Chinese director, screenwriter and occasional actor. He won the Golden Bear for Best Film at the 2014 Berlin International Film Festival for the widely acclaimed Chinese neo-noir film ''Black Coal, Thin Ice''. Diao is considered a member of the sixth generation of Chinese film makers whose subject matter is focused on realism and stories of urban crime. "Bengawan Solo" ( "Solo River") is an Indonesian song written by Gesang Martohartono in 1940. The song is a description of the longest river in Java, Solo River. The song became popular in Indonesia during the Second World War and was one of the songs promoted nationally in the newly-independent country after the war. The song is the first song written in Bahasa Indonesia by an Indonesian to achieve widespread popularity in Indonesia.
