''The Trigger Complex'' is the tenth studio album by American punk rock band T.S.O.L. (True Sounds of Liberty). It was released in 2017 under the Rise label and produced by Paul Roessler. Overview ''The Trigger Complex'' has been described as "melodic", "anthemic", and "simplistic" with a classic rock-inspired sound. The album is reminiscent of early-80s punk and goth bands including The Damned, Billy Idol, The Cult and Social Distortion. Reception The album received mixed to positive reviews from music critics. ''Punk News'' said there was a lot of stuff to like about the album and gave it 3 and a half stars. ''Kerrang UK'' called the album "disappointing" while also noting that there were brief "moments" in songs like "Satellites" and "Why Can't We Do It Again". They gave the album 2 out of 5 stars. Gothic Rock
Gothic rock (also called goth rock or simply goth) is a style of rock music that emerged from post-punk in the United Kingdom in the late 1970s. The first post-punk bands which shifted toward dark music with gothic overtones include Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division, Bauhaus, and the Cure. The genre itself was defined as a separate movement from post-punk. Gothic rock stood out due to its darker sound, with the use of primarily minor or bass chords, reverb, dark arrangements, or dramatic and melancholic melodies, having inspirations in gothic literature allied with themes such as sadness, nihilism, dark romanticism, tragedy, melancholy and morbidity. These themes are often approached poetically. The sensibilities of the genre led the lyrics to represent the evil of the century and the romantic idealization of death and the supernatural imagination. ''Rock Sound'' is a British magazine that covers rock music. The magazine aims at being more "underground" and less commercial, while also giving coverage to better-known acts. Frank Agnew
Francis Thomas "Frank" Agnew (born August 18, 1964) is an American guitarist and songwriter, best known for being a member of punk rock band the Adolescents. Frank's brothers Rikk Agnew and Alfie Agnew, as well as his son Frank Agnew Jr., are also former Adolescents guitarists. Early life Frank Agnew was born into a musical family, half Irish and half Mexican-American. In 1972, his parents moved from La Puente to Fullerton, California. He began playing guitar professionally at an early age, and his brother Rikk sometimes had to sneak him in through the back door of 18 plus or 21 plus venues. Agnew dropped out of high school, but later pursued a liberal arts degree at Fullerton College. After finishing his studies, he went to work in the computer industry. Ron Emory
Ron Emory (born May 20, 1962, Lynwood, California, United States) is an American rock musician and guitarist for the punk rock band T.S.O.L. (True Sounds of Liberty). An original member of the band, founded in Southern California in 1979, Emory left in 1987 prior to the release of the album ''Hit and Run''. In 1996, he joined the other original members of T.S.O.L. to reform the band, which remains active. Emory worked on a solo project titled ''Walk That Walk'', which was released on April 15, 2010. Emory played with Social Distortion during their 2006 tour to fill in for his friend Mike Ness, who had broken his wrist in a skateboarding accident. Greg Kuehn
Gregory Russell Kuehn is an American composer, songwriter, musician and producer. Career As a performing musician Kuehn's career began in Orange County's early punk scene, when he left his classical piano studies at California State University, Long Beach to join horror punk icons T.S.O.L. Together they made the album ''Beneath the Shadows'', still a highly regarded and influential work. Following his tenure in T.S.O.L. , he spent several years as a recording and touring musician working with artists including Bob Dylan, The Church, Duane Peters, Megan Mullally, Berlin and Ian Astbury of The Cult. Most recently, Kuehn has been performing with LA punk legends X, filling in for the late Ray Manzarek of The Doors. Chip Hanna
Chip Hanna (born 1965 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana) was the drummer of U.S. Bombs and One Man Army. He now plays drums for the U.S. Bombs occasionally. Chip also sang lead vocals and played snare drum for Busted Hearts out of Phoenix, Arizona. Hanna currently has a project called Chip Hanna & The Berlin Three, which is a country/western/rockabilly/psychobilly/bluegrass band based out of Kreuzberg, Berlin, Germany. He plays guitar and sings lead. The project's first LP, ''Chip Hanna & The Berlin Three'', was released in April 2007 on People Like You Records in Germany. Jack Grisham
Jack Grisham (born July 22, 1961) is an American rock vocalist, musician, raconteur and political activist from Southern California. He is the vocalist for the punk rock band T.S.O.L. (True Sounds of Liberty), which emerged from the late 1970s Los Angeles hardcore punk rock scene, along with Black Flag, Circle Jerks and Bad Religion. Grisham has also fronted the bands Vicious Circle, the Joykiller, Tender Fury and Cathedral of Tears. He records with T.S.O.L., the Joykiller and the Manic Low. For each product, the scores from each review are averaged (a weighted arithmetic mean, weighted average). Metacritic was created by Jason Dietz, Marc Doyle, and Julie Doyle Roberts in 1999. The site provides an excerpt from each review and hyperlinks to its source. A color of green, yellow or red summarizes the critics' recommendations. It is regarded as the foremost online review aggregation site for the video game industry.
