''The Sideshow'' was a one-hour Australian television comedy/variety series that was broadcast on ABC TV in 2007. The show was a mixture of stand-up comedy, sketches, live music, circus acts, cabaret and burlesque. Hosted by Paul McDermott, ''The Sideshow'' regularly featured performances and sketches by Claire Hooper, Flacco, The Umbilical Brothers, and Tripod. The series was created by veteran director-producer Ted Robinson, produced for the ABC by Robinson's GNW company. It was similar in style to earlier Ted Robinson ABC comedy productions, notably ''The Big Gig'', and the short-lived ABC show '' The 10:30 Slot'', featuring "live-to-tape" performances before a studio audience, pre-recorded inserts and the use of multiple stages. Ted Robinson (TV Director)
Ted Robinson (born 1944) is an Australian television producer and director who is best known for his work and a director and producer of live TV comedy. Career Robinson began his TV career at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, working on ''The Aunty Jack Show'', under the tutelage of series director Maurice M. Murphy. His TV directorial debut was in 1973, with the ABC sitcom '' Our Man in the Company''. In 1974 he took over from Murphy as director of the two Aunty Jack spinoff series, ''Wollongong the Brave'' and '' Flash Nick from Jindavik''. During the late 1970s he also co-hosted a regular radio show on Double Jay (2JJ) in Sydney, with actor Lex Marinos. Clayton Doley
Clayton Doley (born 13 September 1974) is an Australian musician, singer, songwriter, television musical director, arranger, and record producer best known for his Hammond Organ virtuosity. Songwriter and producer As a songwriter Clayton has had his works recorded by The Whitlams, Jimmy Barnes, Mahalia Barnes, Jade MacRae, Ngaiire and Kara Grainger. Clare Bowditch (born 1975) is an Australian musician, actress, radio presenter and business entrepreneur. Timothy Adrian Rogers (born 20 September 1969), known professionally as Tim Rogers, is an Australian musician, actor and writer, best known as the frontman of Australian rock band You Am I. Something for Kate are an Australian alternative rock band, which formed in 1994 with Paul Dempsey on lead vocals and guitar, and Clint Hyndman on drums. Dappled Cities (formerly "Dappled Cities Fly") are an indie rock band from Sydney, Australia. History 1997–2003 The band came together as teenagers in the northern suburbs of Sydney in 1997. Dave Rennick and original drummer Hugh Boyce were joined by Alex Moore on bass and Tim Derricourt on guitar. Keyboards were added occasionally by Mark Bradshaw, and after 2006 more regularly by Ned Cooke. The band started out playing at all-ages shows and charity benefits before they reached legal age to play in the licensed venues in the Sydney CBD. Kate Melina Miller-Heidke (; born 16 November 1981) is an Australian singer and songwriter. Although classically trained, she has generally followed a career in alternative pop music. She signed to Sony Australia, Epic in the US and RCA in the UK, but since 2014 has been an independent artist. The Cat Empire
The Cat Empire are an Australian jazz/funk band, formed in Melbourne, Victoria, in 1999. For most of the band's duration, the core members were Felix Riebl (lead vocals, percussion), Harry James Angus (trumpet, vocals), Will Hull-Brown (drums), Jamshid "Jumps" Khadiwhala (turntables, percussion), Ollie McGill (keyboards, backing vocals) and Ryan Monro (bass, backing vocals). Kisschasy are an Australian rock band that formed in Melbourne, Victoria in 2002. Their line-up consists of lead vocalist Darren Cordeux, bassist Joel Vanderuit, guitarist Sean Thomas and drummer Karl Ammitzboll. The band released two gold certified studio albums, two extended plays, a documentary DVD and a compilation album in their initial 10-year career, selling in excess of 90,000 records. Sneaky Sound System is an Australian dance music group formed in late 2001 by Angus McDonald on guitar, MC Double D (Daimon Downey) on vocoder and vocals, Damien Hesse (DJ) and Nick Broadhurst on saxophone.
