The Teskey Brothers
The Teskey Brothers are an Australian blues rock band from Melbourne, named after the two brothers who formed the group in 2008: Josh Teskey (vocals, rhythm guitar) and Sam Teskey (lead guitar). In 2019 they signed with Glassnote Records and Ivy League Records. They have released two albums, '' Half Mile Harvest'' (2017) and '' Run Home Slow'' (2019). At the 2019 ARIA Music Awards, The Teskey Brothers were nominated for seven awards. They won three categories for the album, ''Run Home Slow'', Best Group, Best Blues and Roots Album and Engineer of the Year (Sam Teskey). Career The band was formed in 2008 by two brothers, Josh Teskey (vocals) and Sam Teskey (guitar), along with Brendon Love (bass) and Liam Gough (drums). Josh Teskey
Josh Teskey (born 31 July 1987) is an Australian blues musician, best known for his work with the Teskey Brothers. Teskey released the collaborative studio album, '' Push the Blues Away'' with Ash Grunwald, on 13 November 2020, which peaked at number 8 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Life and career 1987–2007: Early life Josh Teskey was born on 31 July 1987 in Warrandyte, Victoria. He attended a local primary school with no year levels. He was close to his brother Sam, with Josh saying in 2021, "We had these bird calls we'd do so we could always find each other in bush near where we lived. We also used them at parties when we were teenagers. I'd do the call and Sam would materialise out of the crowd." ''Half Mile Harvest'' is the debut studio album by Australian indie blues rock band The Teskey Brothers. The album was released on 12 January 2017 and peaked at number 18 on the ARIA Charts. A deluxe edition was released in October 2018, replacing the two cover songs on the standard track listing with two new original songs. Background and release Josh and Sam Teskey grew up in Warrandyte and met Brendon Love and Liam Gough and formed the Teskey Brothers in 2008. The Teskey Brothers have been performing around Melbourne since then. The album was recorded in Sam's studio space. In January 2017, the album was launched with a sold out Gasometer Hotel in Collingwood, which had a 150 capacity.
