The Ten-Seconders
''The Ten-Seconders'' is a comics story which appeared in the British anthology magazine '' 2000 AD'', written by Rob Williams and drawn by Mark Harrison, Dom Reardon, Ben Oliver, Edmund Bagwell, Shaun Thomas and Ben Willsher. It is about a group of survivors fighting against gods that have taken over the planet. Their life-expectancy when encountering a god is ten seconds. Plot In the near future, human society has been destroyed by the Gods (beings with superpowers closely resembling those of archetypical comic book superheroes) who came to our planet offering help but instead, seeing that we could not look after ourselves, demanded that we accept them as our leaders. Stubbornly, humanity fought back and were defeated by the Gods and their incredible powers, leaving few survivors. 2000 AD (comics)
''2000 AD'' is a weekly British science fiction-oriented comic magazine. As a comics anthology it serialises stories in each issue (known as "progs") and was first published by IPC Magazines in 1977, the first issue dated 26 February. Since 2000 it has been published by Rebellion Developments. ''2000 AD'' is most noted for its ''Judge Dredd'' stories, and has been contributed to by a number of artists and writers who became renowned in the field internationally, such as Alan Moore, Dave Gibbons, Grant Morrison, Brian Bolland, Mike McMahon, John Wagner, Alan Grant and Garth Ennis. Rebellion Developments Limited is a British video game developer based in Oxford, England. Founded by Jason and Chris Kingsley in December 1992, the company is best known for its ''Sniper Elite'' series and multiple games in the ''Alien vs. Predator'' series. Sister company Rebellion Publishing has published comic books since 2000, when it purchased '' 2000 AD'', the publisher of characters such as Judge Dredd and Rogue Trooper. Mark Harrison (comics)
Mark Harrison (born 22 September 1963) is a British comic book artist and occasional writer. The bulk of his work has appeared in the magazine '' 2000 AD''. Harrison's fully painted style uses strong, dark colours and computer effects, though recent series '' The Ten-Seconders'' (written by Rob Williams) shows him moving towards lighter pencilling. Biography Harrison graduated from School of Art, Bournville in 1982. Dom Reardon is a British comics artist, whose work appears mainly in British comic '' 2000AD''. He is the illustrator of Gordon Rennie-scripted horror tale Caballistics, Inc. Biography Noted for a sketchy, deliberately rough black-and-white style, Reardon is often connected with fellow Brits Jock and Henry Flint. Ben Oliver is a British comics artist who has worked for '' 2000 AD'' on ''Judge Dredd'' as well as providing art for '' The Authority'', '' The Losers'', and ''Ultimate X-Men'' Biography Ben Oliver lives in Bristol, his first professional work in England came out in 2000. He started work on ''Judge Dredd'' and then illustrated the Com.x limited series ''Puncture'' written by Russell Uttley. His first professional work in America came out in 2003 when he got work at DC Comics imprints, like Wildstorm, Vertigo and America's Best Comics. Edmund Bagwell
Edmund Bagwell (1966 – 2017) was a British comics artist. Professionally he was also known as Edmund Perryman, EC Perriman, Edmund Kitsune, Anonyman and Anoniman. Bagwell was born in Preston, England, and studied art at Leeds Polytechnic. His early career as a comics artist saw him write and draw his own strip, ''Syd Serene'', for ''Deadline'' in 1988. He also illustrated '' Black Axe'' (1993) for Marvel UK, a Nick Fury strip for '' Marvel Comics Presents'', a ''Judge Dredd'' story for '' 2000 AD'', and stories for ''Crisis'' and other titles, before moving on to develop concept art and digital design for computer games and film companies.
