The Sunlandic Twins
''The Sunlandic Twins'' is the seventh album by indie pop band of Montreal. The album continues further into the more electronic territory first explored on 2004's ''Satanic Panic in the Attic''. It was recorded almost entirely by Kevin Barnes, the band's singer and songwriter, in Athens, GA and Oslo, Norway throughout 2004. Background Initial pressings of the album contained a bonus EP featuring four new tracks. One of them, "Keep Sending Me Black Fireworks," features Kevin's wife Nina on vocals, while "Art Snob Solutions" features the same instrumental track as the earlier "Will You Let Me into Your Dream". The double vinyl edition of the album included an additional bonus track, "Family Nouveau". The title of "So Begins Our Alabee" refers to the couple's daughter, Alabee Barnes, who is also the partial subject of "Family Nouveau", along with Nina. "Wraith Pinned to the Mist and Other Games" was featured as a re-recorded jingle in a television commercial for Outback Steakh ... ''Stylus Magazine'' was an American online music and film magazine, launched in 2002 and co-founded by Todd L. Burns. It featured long-form music journalism, four daily music reviews, movie reviews, podcasts, an MP3 blog, and a text blog. Additionally, ''Stylus'' had daily features like "The Singles Jukebox", which looked at pop singles from around the globe, and "Soulseeking", a column focused on personal responses in listening. Even though they never reached the readership of other music magazines such as PopMatters or Pitchfork, they still had a very consistent and fired-up audience. In 2006, the site was chosen by the ''Observer Music Monthly'' as one of the Internet's 25 most essential music websites. ''Stylus'' closed as a business on 31 October 2007. ''Cloverfield'' is a 2008 American found footage monster film directed by Matt Reeves, produced by J. J. Abrams, and written by Drew Goddard. It stars Lizzy Caplan, Jessica Lucas, T.J. The plot follows six young New York City residents fleeing from a massive monster and various other smaller creatures that attack the city during a farewell party. Development began when producer J. Kevin Barnes
Kevin Lawrence Barnes (born May 30, 1974) is the singer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter for the indie rock group of Montreal, part of the Elephant 6 Collective. Barnes started the band and, although providing several stories as to the origin of the name, is said to have named it after a failed romance with a woman from Montreal. The group has recorded 18 full-length albums, and numerous EPs and 7" singles. Satanic Panic In The Attic
''Satanic Panic in the Attic'' is the sixth album released by the band Of Montreal. The album, like later albums ''The Sunlandic Twins'' and '' Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer?'', was made almost entirely by Kevin Barnes. The cover artwork is done by the singer/songwriter's brother, David Barnes, with insert art by then-wife Nina Barnes. The cover art is a psychedelic parody of El Greco's ''The Burial of the Count of Orgaz''. A 10th anniversary edition of the album was released exclusively on vinyl for Record Store Day 2014. The release contains the original album on 180g yellow vinyl as well as a 180g light blue vinyl disc with bonus tracks recorded around the same time as the album.
