The Sheila Divine
The Sheila Divine is an American, Boston-based rock group. Critics compare their sound to the band's own heroes, mainly the early 1980s post-punk. The band is most often noted for its loud/soft musical dynamic and Aaron Perrino's soaring vocals, screaming in key one moment and howling a falsetto the next. The band has a large die hard fan base in what is often called "the three Bs": Boston, Buffalo, and Belgium. The band most often explains that they take the name from the Australian term "sheila," which denotes an effeminate man or wimp – thus making them in a literal sense, the sacred wimps. However, there is also, in fact, a real live woman named Sheila Devine, who Aaron, Jim, and Shawn were friends with at Oneonta State University. Orbit (American Band)
Orbit is an American, Boston, Massachusetts-based rock band. Formed in 1994, the band went on hiatus in late 2001. Their initial releases were on drummer Buckley's own Lunch Records label before the band moved to major label A&M Records in the summer of 1995. The three members of the original trio (Robbins, Buckley, Brookner) signed the deal with A&M. Career In 1997, Orbit released their debut album ''Libido Speedway'', which produced the modern rock hit, "Medicine", a spot on the Lollapalooza tour and a Boston Music Award for debut album of the year. De Afrekening is a Belgian radio and record chart broadcasting program featured on Studio Brussel (commonly referred to as "StuBru"). During the program, thirty top-rating "alternative" tracks are played, with the chart being assembled by the program's audience via a voting poll system. Two or three times each year, StuBru will release an album featuring the program's most popular chart tracks. Beginning in 1990, albums are still released today and continue to prove popular with fans. Since the chart is assembled via voting, unexpected results and outcomes will sometimes occur. One such instance occurred on 19 April 2006, with two separate songs placing first after receiving an equal number of votes.
