''The Love of Captain Brando'' ( es, El amor del capitán Brando) is a 1974 Spanish drama film written and directed by Jaime de Armiñán, starring Ana Belén, Fernando Fernán Gómez and Jaime Gamboa. It was shot in Pedraza, a medieval village in the province of Segovia, renamed Trescabañas in the film.Deveney, ''Cain on Screen'', p. 172 The plot follows the relationship of Aurora, a young school teacher, with two men of opposite generations who fall in love with her: Fernando, a middle age republican exile, and Juan, a thirteen-year-old boy who enjoys playing acting in Westerns, and his imitation of Marlon Brando gives the film its title. Jaime de Armiñán Oliver (born 9 March 1927) is a Spanish screenwriter and film director. His films have been nominated for Academy Awards in the Foreign language film category twice, in 1972 for ''My Dearest Senorita, Mi querida señorita'' and in 1980 for ''The Nest (1980 film), El Nido''. His 1974 film ''The Love of Captain Brando, El amor del capitán Brando'' was entered into the 24th Berlin International Film Festival. His 1985 film ''Stico'' was entered into the 35th Berlin International Film Festival, where Fernando Fernán Gómez won the Silver Bear for Best Actor. In 1994, his film ''On the Far Side of the Tunnel, Al otro lado del Túnel'' was entered into the 44th Berlin International Film Festival. María Jesús Lampreave Pérez (11 December 1930 – 4 April 2016), known professionally as Chus Lampreave, was a Spanish character actress who starred in more than 70 films. She is internationally known for her roles in films by Pedro Almodóvar. Biography Lampreave was born in Madrid. She planned on being a painter and studied at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando, after which she worked as an illustrator for the publishing firm. Pilar Muñoz Ruiz (March 18, 1911 - October 1, 1980) was a Spanish stage and film actress. Daughter of actor Alfonso Muñoz and sister of actress Mimí Muñoz, she began acting with Margarita Xirgu in 1925. In 1927 she appeared in ''La princesa Bebé'' and 1931 in ''Vidas cruzadas'', both with Jacinto Benavente and next to Xirgú and her father. Three years later came one of their biggest hits, ''Ni al amor ni al mar, del mismo autor'', in 1934 at the Festival de Mérida with Medea and Electra.
