The Dawn is a Filipino Pinoy rock, rock band which first achieved commercial success during the late 1980s in the Philippines. The band broke up in 1995 with lead vocalist Jett Pangan forming another band, the Jett Pangan Group. The Dawn reunited in late 1999. The Dawn is considered the "longest-lived and most prolific rock band in the Philippines". Teddy Diaz
Teodoro "Teddy" de Villa Diaz (1 April 1963 – 21 August 1988) was a Filipino people, Filipino musician and composer, best known as the founder and original guitarist of The Dawn (band), The Dawn. As a composer, he co-wrote the band's first single "Enveloped Ideas (song), Enveloped Ideas" and their well-known hit "''Salamat''", which was released posthumously in 1989. He played guitar on the albums ''The Dawn (album), The Dawn'' (1986) and ''I Stand With You'' (1988). Aside from being a guitarist, he played keyboards as credited on The Dawn's 1986 debut album. At the height of his career and at the peak of The Dawn's popularity in the late 1980s, he was stabbed to death in front of his girlfriend's house by two bystanders who were allegedly under the influence of drugs and alcohol. ''i-Witness'', formerly ''i-Witness: The GMA Documentaries'' is a Philippine television documentary show broadcast by GMA Network and GMA News TV. Originally hosted by Vicky Morales, Luchi Cruz-Valdes, Mike Enriquez, Cheche Lazaro and Jessica Soho, it premiered on January 18, 1999. It is the longest-running documentary program in Philippine television. The show concluded on GMA Network on April 29, 2020. Zorro (Spanish language, Spanish for 'fox') is a fictional character created in 1919 by American pulp magazine, pulp writer Johnston McCulley, appearing in works set in the Pueblo of Los Angeles in Alta California. He is typically portrayed as a dashing masked vigilante who defends the commoners and indigenous peoples of California against corrupt and tyrannical officials and other villains. Klaus Nomi
Klaus Sperber (January 24, 1944 – August 6, 1983), known professionally as Klaus Nomi, was a German countertenor noted for his wide vocal range and an unusual, otherworldly stage persona. In the 1970s Nomi immersed himself in the East Village art scene. He was known for his bizarre and visionary theatrical live performances, heavy make-up, unusual costumes, and a highly stylized signature hairdo that flaunted a receding hairline. The Juan de la Cruz Band was a Filipino rock group formed in 1968, that pioneered what became known as Pinoy rock. Founding guitarist Wally Gonzalez credited his fellow founding member, drummer Edmund Fortuno (a.k.a. "Bosyo"), with having introduced the band's name. The songs "Dreams", "Give Me the Night", "Mad Game", "Behind Shadows" and " Enveloped Ideas" were performed at Concert at the Park in Luneta. New Wave Music
New wave is a loosely defined music genre that encompasses pop-oriented styles from the late 1970s and the 1980s.
