''The Hudson and Pepperdine Show'' is a comedy sketch show vehicle on BBC Radio 4 (repeated on BBC Radio 4 Extra) for the duo Melanie Hudson and Vicki Pepperdine. Four series have been broadcast, in 2000 (4 episodes), 2001 (4 episodes), 2003 (6 episodes) and 2005 (6 episodes, of which 5 were broadcast). BBC Radio 4 Extra (formerly BBC Radio 7) is a British digital radio station from the BBC, broadcasting archived repeats of comedy, drama and documentary programmes nationally, 24 hours a day. It is the sister station of BBC Radio 4 and the principal broadcaster of the BBC's spoken-word archive, and as a result the majority of its programming originates from that archive. It also broadcasts extended and companion programmes to those broadcast on Radio 4, and provides a "catch-up" service for certain programmes. The station launched in December 2002 as BBC 7, broadcasting a mix of archive comedy, drama and current children's radio. Melanie Hudson
Melanie Hudson is an English actress and comedian. With Vicki Pepperdine, she was part of the double act Hudson and Pepperdine. The two women wrote and starred in BBC Radio 4's ''The Hudson and Pepperdine Show''. Hudson performed multiple roles in '' Knowing Me, Knowing You... with Alan Partridge'' (''KMKY''), including Alan's French co-host Nina Vanier. Vicki Pepperdine
Vicki Pepperdine (born 1961) is an English comedy actress and writer. She was nominated for two BAFTA TV Awards for co-writing the BBC sitcom '' Getting On'' (2009–12), and was also nominated for a British Comedy Award for her portrayal of Dr Pippa Moore in the series. "Copacabana", also known as "Copacabana (At the Copa)", is a song recorded by Barry Manilow. Written by Manilow, Jack Feldman, and Bruce Sussman, it was released in 1978 as the third and final single from Manilow's fifth studio album, '' Even Now'' (1978). Background The song was inspired by a conversation between Manilow and Sussman at the Copacabana Hotel in Rio de Janeiro, when they discussed whether there had ever been a song called "Copacabana". After returning to the US, Manilow – who, in the 1960s, had been a regular visitor to the Copacabana nightclub in New York City – suggested that Sussman and Feldman write the lyrics to a story song for him. The 7 July 2005 London bombings, often referred to as 7/7, were a series of four coordinated suicide attacks carried out by Islamic terrorists in London that targeted commuters travelling on the city's public transport system during the morning rush hour.
