''The Glow'' (stylised in all caps) is the third studio album by Australian indie rock band DMA's. It was released on 10 July 2020. Lead single "Silver" ranked at number 20 in Triple J's Hottest 100 of 2019. Guitarist Johnny Took said of the album " t'sabout how people are always looking for something better. It's got that universal sense that anyone can relate to, that exhaustion you sometimes feel trying to achieve more or be something more." At the ARIA Music Awards of 2020, the album was nominated for four awards, including ARIA Award for Album of the Year. At the AIR Awards of 2021, the album won Independent Album of the Year and Best Independent Rock Album or EP. DMA'S (stylised in all caps) are an Australian three-piece rock band formed in 2012 in Sydney. The band is composed of Tommy O'Dell, Matt Mason, and Johnny Took. They gained popularity for their debut single " Delete" and for their self-titled EP released in 2014. The band's moniker - DMA'S - comes from their former name, "The Dirty MA's". History Johnny Took, Matthew Mason and Tommy O'Dell began playing music together "for about two years" before DMA'S formed. The 2019 Triple J Hottest 100 was announced on 25 January 2020. It is the 27th countdown of the most popular songs of the year, as chosen by listeners of Australian radio station Triple J. A record-breaking number of votes (3.21 million) were cast by listeners choosing their top ten songs of 2019. This was the first Hottest 100 countdown to reach 3 million votes. American singer-songwriter Billie Eilish was voted into first place with her single "Bad Guy". In doing so, she became the first female solo artist, and the youngest act (at 18 years old) to top a Hottest 100.
