The Forger (2014 Film)
''The Forger'' is a 2014 American thriller crime drama film directed by Philip Martin and starring John Travolta. It started filming in October 2013. It was released to theaters on April 24, 2015. Premise Raymond Cutter, a second-generation criminal, cuts a deal with an underworld art dealer to get released early from prison to spend time with his son who has an inoperable brain tumor. He must forge a copy of Monet's '' Woman with a Parasol - Madame Monet and Her Son'' (in the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C.) and switch it with the real one, with the help of his son and father, to repay the syndicate that arranged his release. Philip Martin (director)
Philip Martin is a British television director and screenwriter. Martin directed the television drama ''Hawking'' (2004), which was nominated for the British Academy Television Award for Best Single Drama; the final installment of the ITV drama ''Prime Suspect'' (2006), which was nominated for the BAFTA for Best Drama Serial and won Martin the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries, Movie or Dramatic Special; and two episodes of the first series of '' Wallander'' (2008), which won the BAFTA for Best Drama Series and got him another Emmy nomination. He also wrote and directed the BBC Films documentary ''Double Helix: The DNA Years'' (2004), and directed the BBC television drama ''Einstein and Eddington'' (2008). Monet
Oscar-Claude Monet (, , ; 14 November 1840 – 5 December 1926) was a French painter and founder of impressionist painting who is seen as a key precursor to modernism, especially in his attempts to paint nature as he perceived it.
