The Cyber Shinobi
''The Cyber Shinobi'' (also known as ''Shinobi Part 2'') is a side-scrolling action game produced by Sega that was released for the Master System in 1990. It was the third ''Shinobi'' game for the console (if one includes ''Alex Kidd in Shinobi World'') and served as a futuristic-themed sequel to the original ''Shinobi''. The game was released in Canada, Europe, Australia and Brazil, at a time when the Master System was discontinued in other markets. Gameplay The controls and rules of the game are very different from the original ''Shinobi''. Although the objective of the game is still to reach the end of the stage and then fight a boss, the player is prevented from proceeding onwards at certain points of each stage until certain enemies are eliminated, similar to a side-scrolling beat-'em-up. Joe Musashi
is a player character and main protagonist in Sega's ''Shinobi'' series of video games, first introduced in 1987. This original Shinobi hero has achieved great popularity during the late 1980s and early 1990s, when it was used as one of Sega's mascot characters. During this time he was cast as the protagonist of the original arcade game as well the Mega Drive/Genesis sequels '' The Revenge of Shinobi'' and '' Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master'', also starring in two Game Gear titles. The Master System—renamed and with a redesigned casing from the original Sega Mark III, which had been released in the Japanese market in 1985—is a video game console released by Sega in the North American market in June 1986 to compete with the Nintendo Entertainment System, which had been released in the same market in February 1986 (an earlier test market for NES in New York and California occurred in October 1985). Originally priced at 200, North American distribution rights for the console were acquired by Tonka before Sega re-acquired the rights themselves and released a further streamlined redesign of the console during the launch of the Sega Genesis. Paragon Publishing Ltd (or Paragon for short) was a magazine publisher in the UK, which published computer games and other entertainment titles from 1991 to 2003. Brief history Paragon Publishing Ltd was formed in a small office in Trowbridge, Wiltshire by ex-Future Publishing staff Richard Monteiro and Diane Tavener. With a small team of staff they began work on their first publication ''Sega Pro''. With the success of ''Sega Pro'' the company began expanding and launched several other titles, hiring more staff to produce these new titles. It was not long before the company moved into new premises in Bournemouth. The company continued to publish magazines for the video games market as well as other areas for the next decade.
