Paul Scardon
Paul Scardon (6 May 1874 – 17 January 1954) was an actor, a producer, and a director on both Australian and New York stages. When he was 15, Scardon debuted on stage as a contortionist in vaudeville. He progressed from that to pantomime and then joined a troupe headed by J. C. Williamson, touring New Zealand and Australia for five years. In 1905, he joined a company headed by Nance O'Neil, and that group's tour brought him to the United States. Scardon's Broadway credits include ''Mrs. Bumpstead-Leigh'' (1911), ''Becky Sharp'' (1911), ''The Green Cockatoo'' (1910), ''Hannele'' (1910), ''The Debtors'' (1909), ''Agnes''(1908), ''Our American Cousin'' (1908), and ''Brigadier Gerard'' (1906). Wilfred Van Norman Lucas (January 30, 1871 – December 13, 1940) was a Canadian American stage actor who found success in film as an actor, director, and screenwriter. Early life Lucas was born in Norfolk County, Ontario on January 30, 1871,US Passport Application July 17, 1917 (Wilfred Lucas) most likely in the township of Townsend where at the time his father served as a Wesleyan Methodist minister. He was the youngest of three sons to be raised by Daniel Lucas and the former E. Adeline Reynolds, in Townsend and later Montreal, Quebec. Lydia Knott (October 1, 1866 – March 30, 1955) was an American actress of the silent film era. She appeared in more than 90 films between 1914 and 1937. Biography Knott was born in Tyner, Indiana, the daughter of Lambert and Clarissa Knott. She died in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles. She was the mother of director Lambert Hillyer. For years, Knott was David Higgins' leading lady. She acted in Repertory theatre, stock theater in Albany, Chicago, Cincinnati, and Toledo, among other cities. She also toured the United States in at least five productions. She also acted in vaudeville. Prior to that, he had a career as a stage actor in Australia and the United States. In sound films, he was frequently typecast as a clergyman.
