The Boxer (album)
''The Boxer'' is the debut solo album by Kele Okereke, the lead singer of British indie rock band Bloc Party. Okereke released the album under the professional name of Kele on 21 June 2010. As promotion, he uploaded the songs "Rise" and "Walk Tall" to his personal website on 13 May. The first single from ''The Boxer'' was "Tenderoni", released on 14 June, and the second, " Everything You Wanted", on 16 August. The album's third single " On the Lam" was released on 25 October. The album was released by Wichita Recordings worldwide, except for the US and Canada (Glassnote Records), Australia (a co-release with Shock Records anCo-Op and Japan (a co-release with Hostess Entertainment). Vinyl copies of the album were released by Wichita and Polydor. The digital and Japanese versions of the album included bonus tracks and remixes in addition to the standard 10 tracks. Kele Okereke
Rowland Kelechukwu Okereke (born 13 October 1981), also known mononymously as Kele, is an English singer, songwriter, and musician. He is best known as the lead singer and rhythm guitarist of the indie rock band Bloc Party. Early life Okereke was born in Liverpool on 13 October 1981, the son of Nigerian immigrant parents. He is of Igbo descent and was raised Catholic in London. From 2001 to 2003, he studied English literature at King's College London. Music career Bloc Party In 2005, Bloc Party released their first studio album, titled ''Silent Alarm.'' The album reached number three in the UK Albums Chart, and propelled the band to fame. Larry Tee (born October 12, 1959) is a Berlin-based DJ, club promoter, and music producer who curated the electroclash scene in New York in the early 2000s, and helped launch the careers of such artists as RuPaul, Scissor Sisters, Fischerspooner, Peaches, W.I.T., and Avenue D. Metacritic is a website that review aggregator, aggregates reviews of films, TV shows, music albums, video games and formerly, books. For each product, the scores from each review are averaged (a weighted arithmetic mean, weighted average). Metacritic was created by Jason Dietz, Marc Doyle, and Julie Doyle Roberts in 1999.
