The first season of ''The Boulet Brothers' Dragula'' premiered on the Hey Qween Network streaming service on October 31, 2016, and concluded on February 20, 2017. The series featured nine contestants, from all over California, competing for the title of ''World's First Drag Supermonster'' and a cash prize of $10,000. Guest judges included director Darren Stein, and drag performers Peaches Christ and Heklina. It ran for seven episodes, including a special episode incorporating unutilized footage. The season was subsequently remastered, and was distributed by OutTv, Amazon Prime, and SBS Viceland. ''The Boulet Brothers' Dragula'' is an American reality competition television series produced by Boulet Brothers Productions, hosted by the Boulet Brothers. The series originally aired on YouTube and has aired on Netflix in the United States, OUTtv in Canada, and Amazon Prime in the United Kingdom and Australia. Starting with season 4, the series moved to Shudder in all territories. The series will become a Shudder exclusive, with all seasons being hosted on the platform. The series is created and hosted by the Boulet Brothers, who challenge a different set of eleven drag artists from around the world to compete in an underground style drag competition each season. Lady Red Couture
Kareemia Baines (May 30, 1977July 25, 2020), known professionally as Lady Red Couture, was an American drag queen and singer best known as the co-host of '' Hey Qween!'' with Jonny McGovern. Born in Park City, Utah, she relocated to Los Angeles, where she became a fixture of the local drag scene. She released an album, ''#Stuntqueen'', in 2018, and she was featured in a number of other drag queens' singles and music videos throughout the 2010s. She also starred in ''Judge Lady Red'', another web series produced by McGovern. Baines died on July 25, 2020, after a flare-up of cyclic vomiting syndrome, a chronic condition that affected her throughout her life. Trannyshack
Trannyshack is a San Francisco drag club started by drag queen Heklina in 1996 as an offshoot of Klubstitute, and was a weekly fixture at The Stud bar in San Francisco for 12 years, drawing large crowds on a regular basis. The Tuesday night performances at The Stud ended on 12 August 2008, with Trannyshack resuming as a monthly event at DNA Lounge in March 2010. The Wicked Witch of the West is a fictional character who appears in the classic children's novel ''The Wonderful Wizard of Oz'' (1900), created by American author L. Frank Baum.
