The Beckoning (band)
The Beckoning is an extreme progressive metal band that originated in Canada. History The Beckoning began in 2010 with husband and wife, Royden "Roy" and Meghann Turple. The two had been in musical projects for years together. In December 2010, the band released ''Bloodlet'', their debut demo. The band was a part of a few compilations in their early days, including ''The Killing Fields'', which came out through Warclub Records. During this time, the band hired on Tim Davidson (bass) and Andy Stevens (guitar) to record on ''Bloodlet''. Soon after the release of the demo, the band released an album, ''Demystifying the Oracle'', with Eldon Loewen as the band's first permanent guitarist and bassist. In 2012, the band released ''War'', their debut EP. Two years later, ''Desolate'' was released. The band is currently working on their sophomore album. In Flames is a Swedish heavy metal band, formed by guitarist Jesper Strömblad in Gothenburg in 1990. Alongside At the Gates and Dark Tranquillity, In Flames pioneered the genres known as Swedish death metal and melodic death metal. During the band's early years, In Flames had a varying group of musicians recording with them, including many session musicians. By the release of ''Colony'' (1999), the group had established a stable lineup. Their sixth studio album ''Reroute to Remain'' (2002) showed the band moving toward a newer style of music that moved further away from melodic death metal and closer to alternative metal. ''The Return of the Black Death'' is the second recorded and first released studio album by the Norwegian unblack metal band Antestor. It was released on September 14, 1998. It is the band's only release on the British Cacophonous Records label. This album's working title was ''Kongsblod''. Antestor recorded another album, ''Martyrium'', prior to ''The Return of the Black Death'', in 1994, and while bootleg versions of the recording circulated, this album did not see official release until 2000. Recording history In February 1997, Antestor recorded a promo-CD titled ''Kongsblod'' at Studio 5, Oslo. The recording and mixing process took approximately 90 hours. At the time their line up consisted of guitarist/keyboardist Lars Stokstad (Vemod), vocalist/lyricist Kjetil Molnes (Martyr), bass player Vegard Undal and drummer Svein Sander (Armoth). Believer is an American technical thrash metal band from the late 1980s and early 1990s, that plays a hybrid of thrash and progressive metal.
