	The Arrivals ''The Arrivals'' is a 2013 fantasy Western novel by American author Melissa Marr. It is her second adult novel, following her 2011 novel '' Graveminder''. It was first published on July 2, 2013, through William Morrow and follows a group of people that must find a way to survive in strange new surroundings. Synopsis When recovering alcoholic Chloe walks into her apartment to find her fiancé having sex with her boss, the first thing she does is walk into a bar and break the sobriety she's worked so hard for. She passes out and awakens in a strange new world called The Wasteland. In this land magic and gunfights are a way of life, as is the rampant corruption that threatens everyone in it. 	Melissa Marr (author) Melissa Marr (born July 25, 1972) is an American author of young adult/urban fantasy novels. Biography Marr, a former university English teacher, currently resides in Arizona. Her first novel was published in 2007, the New York Times bestseller Wicked Lovely. Along with four more books in that series, which were also New York Times bestsellers, she has also written an adult novel, Graveminder which won the 2011 Goodreads Readers Choice Award for "Best Horror" and was a "Top Pick Fantasy" with VOYA. She has written other young adult, adult, and children's fiction. She is also a frequent contributor of short fiction to anthologies and has edited one anthology with Kelley Armstrong, with whom she also wrote the series ''Loki's Wolves'', published under the name M.A. Marr. 	Graveminder ''Graveminder'' is a 2011 Gothic mystery novel by Melissa Marr. The novel was released on May 17, 2011 by William Morrow and Company and follows a young woman that returns to her hometown to discover that she is expected to fill the supernatural shoes of her now deceased grandmother. In 2011 ''Graveminder'' won the 2011 Goodreads Readers Choice Award for "Best Horror". Synopsis The book follows Rebekkah Barrow, a woman that returns to the small town of Claysville in order to attend the funeral of her grandmother Maylene. She remembers that Maylene always attended the funerals of each townsperson, always taking three sips from a flask and telling the dead to "sleep well and stay where I put you".
