Alpesh Thakor
Alpesh Thakor is a politician from Gujarat, India. He is a member of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly from Gandhinagar South. He was earlier a member representing Radhanpur (2017–2019). Formerly associated with the Indian National Congress party, he joined Bharatiya Janata Party in 2019. He started his career as a social worker and political activist. He is a leader of the Koli community in Gujarat. Jagdish Thakor (born 1 July 1957) is an Indian National Congress politician from Gujarat, India. He was the member of 15th Lok Sabha of India. He represented the Patan constituency of Gujarat. Thakor belongs to the Koli community of Gujarat. Political Career Thakor began his political career as a student leader in 1973 and won his first Assembly election in 2002. Vikram Thakor is an Indian actor and musician. He has acted in several commercially successful Gujarati cinema, Gujarati films. Career Early life Vikram Thakor is a native of Fatehpura village near Gandhinagar in Gujarat. Thakor started singing and playing flute on stage at age of ten with his father Melaji Thakor, a folk and kirtan singer. Initially reluctant to enter the film industry, he debuted in ''Ek Var Piyu Ne Malva Aavje'' (2006) which was a commercial hit. The Makwana, or Makawana is a clan (Gotra) of the Koli caste found in the Indian state of Gujarat. The Makwana clan is mostly found among Talpada Kolis, Chunvalia Koli and Ghedia Kolis. Madhav Singh Solanki
Madhav Singh Solanki (30 July 1927 – 9 January 2021) was a leader of Indian National Congress party who served as External Affairs minister of India. He served also as the Chief Minister of Gujarat three times. He was known for KHAM theory by which he came to power in Gujarat in 1980s. Early life Madhav was born on 30 July 1927 in a Koli family of Gujarat. His eldest son, Bharatsinh Madhavsinh Solanki, is also a politician. Career In 1981, the Government of Gujarat headed by the chief minister Solanki, introduced the reservation for socially and economically backward classes based on recommendations of Bakshi Commission. It resulted in anti-reservation agitation across the state which spilled over in riots resulting in more than hundred deaths.
