Baron Teviot
Baron Teviot, of Burghclere in the County of Southampton, is a title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. It was created in 1940 for Charles Kerr, who had previously represented the Montrose Burghs in the House of Commons, and served as Chief Whip for the National Liberal Party, and government whip and Comptroller of the Household in the National Government. He later served as Chairman of the National Liberals. Kerr was a grandson of Lord Charles Lennox Kerr, fourth son of William Kerr, 6th Marquess of Lothian. the title is held by his only son, the second Baron, who succeeded in 1968. He is a genealogist. From 1987 to 1990 the second Baron Teviot served as President of the Institute of Transport Management. The Teviot Falls is a plunge waterfall in the Darling Downs region of Queensland, Australia. Location and features The falls are part of the Scenic Rim and are located near the town of . The falls descend from the McPherson Range near Wilsons Peak, north of the Queensland/New South Wales border. The falls may be viewed via accessing a sealed road up the range towards Teviot Gap, also known as The Head. Four other waterfalls are located in the area surrounding Killarney, including the Queen Mary Falls, Daggs Falls, Browns Falls and Upper Browns Falls. Teviot Creek Dam is a dam in North Queensland, Australia. It is located on Teviot Creek, a tributary of the Isaac River, upstream of the Burton Gorge Dam. Burton Coal Pty Ltd has a licence to take 1,500 ML/year from the dam. The monthly supply reliability based on a relatively short period of record is thought to be 100%. River Teviot
The River Teviot (; gd, Abhainn Tìbhiot), or Teviot Water, is a river of the Scottish Borders area of Scotland, and is the largest tributary of the River Tweed by catchment area. The Teviot is an important river for wildlife, especially the Atlantic salmon, but in recent years has witnessed at least four extreme flooding events. Course It rises in the western foothills of Comb Hill on the border of Dumfries and Galloway. It flows north-eastwards through Teviotdale and past Teviothead, the Colterscleuch Monument, Broadhaugh, Branxholme and Branxholme Castle. The Teviot passes through Hawick and Lanton, past the Timpendean Tower and the village of Ancrum, Harestanes and Monteviot, Nisbet and Roxburgh, before joining the River Tweed to the southwest of Kelso.
