Guido Maria Casullo (May 27, 1909–January 10, 2004) was a Catholic prelate who was a bishop in both Italy and Brazil. Biography Guido Maria Casullo was born on May 27, 1909, in Monteleone di Puglia, then a municipality in the Province of Avellino, but nowadays in the Apulian Province of Foggia. He was baptized on June 2 of that year. On November 4, 1920, he entered the Diocesan Seminary of Ariano di Puglia (now Ariano Irpino) and was ordained a deacon on January 6, 1932. He was then ordained a priest on July 16, 1932. On May 27, 1951, Casullo was appointed the Bishop of Nusco and was ordained to the episcopate on July 15, 1951, in the Ariano Irpino Cathedral. Archbishop Agostino Mancinelli acted as principal consecrator, while Bishops Gioacchino Pedicini and Pasquale Venezia acted as co-consecrators. Carmelo Cassati
Carmelo Cassati (6 April 1924 – 3 February 2017) was an Italian prelate of the Catholic Church. Cassati was born in Tricase ordained a priest on 17 December 1949 from the religious order of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart. In 1950, he was sent as a Missionary to Brazil and then, in 1951, to Peru. The Apostolic Nuncio of Peru, Giovanni Panico, appointed him his secretary. Cassati was appointed auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Pinheiro, as well as titular bishop of Nova Germania, on 27 April 1970 and ordained on 28 June 1970. Cassati was appointed bishop of Pinheiro diocese on 17 June 1975. Carlos Carmelo Vasconcellos Motta (16 July 1890 – 18 September 1982) was a long-serving cardinal. Until Eugênio de Araújo Sales surpassed him in 2005, he was the longest-serving Brazilian cardinal, and during his cardinalate the Church in Brazil underwent tremendous expansion, involving the development of many new movements that were to develop after he had largely disappeared from the scene. Biography Originally from a small village in the state of Minas Gerais, the future Cardinal gained his education in the local seminary in the city of Mariana.
