Tempera (horse)
Tempera (March 12, 1999 – April 28, 2002) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse. Background She was sired by U.S. Racing Hall of Fame inductee and two-time leading sire in North America A.P. Indy who was a son of the 1977 United States Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing champion, Seattle Slew. Tempera's American-bred dam, Colour Chart, a daughter of the outstanding sire Mr. Prospector, was raced in France by Sheikh Mohammed where she won the 1990 Prix de l'Opéra and Prix de la Nonette. Racing career 2001: two-year-old season In 2001 Tempera Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies and was voted American Champion Two-Year-Old Filly. 2002: three-year-old season At age three, Tempera made two starts at Nad Al Sheba Racecourse in Dubai. Seattle Slew
Seattle Slew (February 15, 1974 – May 7, 2002) was a champion American Thoroughbred horse racing, racehorse who became the tenth winner of the Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing (United States), American Triple Crown (1977). He is one of only two horses to have won the Triple Crown while being undefeated in any previous race; the second was Justify (horse), Justify who won the Triple Crown in 2018 and is descended from Seattle Slew. Seattle Slew was the 1977 American Horse of the Year, Horse of the Year and a champion at ages two, three, and four. Hollywood Park Racetrack
Hollywood Park was a thoroughbred race course located in Inglewood, California, about 3 miles (5 km) from Los Angeles International Airport and adjacent to the Forum indoor arena. In 1994, the original Hollywood Park Casino was added to the racetrack complex. Horse racing and training were shut down in December 2013 though the casino operations continued until a new state of the art casino building, the new Hollywood Park Casino, opened in October 2016. The track was demolished in stages from 2014 until 2016 and the area is now the site of a master-planned neighborhood in development named Hollywood Park after the former track. The UAE Oaks is a flat horse race in the United Arab Emirates for three-year-old thoroughbred fillies run over 1900 metres on dirt at Meydan Racecourse in Dubai in late February or early March. It was first contested in 2001 over 1800 metres on dirt at Nad Al Sheba Racecourse before being transferred to Meydan in 2010 where it was run on the synthetic Tapeta Footings surface and the distance extended.
