The Calgary Open was a golf tournament on the Canadian Tour that was held at Heritage Pointe Golf Club in Heritage Pointe near Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It was founded in 1997, and was the first time the tour had based an event in the Calgary area. Telus Telus Communications Inc. Stroke play, also known as medal play, is a scoring system in the sport of golf in which the total number of strokes is counted over one or more rounds of 18 holes. In stroke play, the winner is the player who has taken the fewest strokes over the course of the round, or rounds.
