Tellef Øgrim
Tellef Øgrim (born 27 January 1958) is a Norwegian fretless guitarist, composer and journalist. He played in oboist Jan Wiese's band Bitihorn from 1976 and joined Ole Hedemann's Ung Pike Forsunnet (UPF) in 1981. UPF released two albums. In 1985 Øgrim and vocalist Anne Danielsen (later his wife) formed the soul-rock band Duck Spin, releasing the group's only album ''Wake me when the Moon gets up'' the year after. In 1987 Øgrim released the jazz-rock album ''Libido'' (Hot Club Records) with Henrik Hellstenius (keyb), Tore Eide (bs/cl) and Inge Norum (dr/prc). During the same period of time he wrote music for two theater plays staged by Piotr Cholodzinski. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. The municipality of Oslo had a population of in 2022, while the city's greater urban area had a population of in 2019, and the metropolitan area had an estimated population of in 2021. Fretless
A fretless guitar is a guitar with a fingerboard without frets, typically a standard instrument that has had the frets removed, though some custom-built and commercial fretless guitars are occasionally made. The classic fretless guitar was first pioneered in 1976 by Turkish musician Erkan Oğur. Fretless bass guitars are readily available, with most major guitar manufacturers producing fretless models. On the fretless guitar, the performer's fingers press the string directly against the fingerboard, as with a violin, resulting in a vibrating string that extends from the bridge (where the strings are attached) to the fingertip instead of to a fret. Technique Musicians employ a standard harmony and the twelve-tone technique as a base for exploring tones, using a fretless guitar. Jacek Kochan
Jacek Kochan (born 1955) is a Polish-born drummer, composer, arranger and music producer. After having started his adventures in music in Poland in the seventies, he moved in the early eighties first to New York City and then to Canada. There he worked with among many others Michel Donato, Karen Young, Andrew Leroux, Yannick Rieu, Oliver Jones, Jean-Pierre Zanella, Michel Cusson, John Abercrombie, Jerry Bergonzi, Pat Labarbera and Kenny Wheeler. Henrik Hellstenius
Henrik Hellstenius (born 28 April 1963) is a Norwegian composer and musicologist. Born in Bærum, Norway, Hellstenius studied musicology at the University of Oslo and composition with Lasse Thoresen, Olav Anton Thommessen and Bjørn Kruse at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo. He studied in 1992–1993 with Gérard Grisey at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris in Paris, and he also studied computer-supported composition at IRCAM. Hellstenius is currently professor in composition and music theory at the Norwegian Academy of Music. Hellstenius’ compositional output spans a wide stylistic field, including opera, chamber music, orchestral works, electro-acoustic music and scores for theatre, film and ballet.
