Tehkummah
Tehkummah is a township in the Canadian province of Ontario, located on Manitoulin Island. Communities The best known community in the township is South Baymouth, the northern docking point of the '' MS Chi-Cheemaun'' passenger-car ferry which traverses the Main Channel of Georgian Bay from the community of Tobermory on the Bruce Peninsula. At the dock, the provincial Highway 6, whose southern segment ends at Tobermory, resumes and continues northward to its terminus at Highway 17 north of Espanola. The administrative centre of the township is the community of Tehkummah. The township also includes the ghost towns of Michael's Bay and Snowville. Manitoulin District
Manitoulin District is a district in Northeastern Ontario within the Canadian province of Ontario. It was created in 1888 from part of the Algoma District. The district seat is in Gore Bay. It comprises Manitoulin Island primarily, as well as a number of smaller islands surrounding it, such as Barrie, Cockburn, and Great La Cloche islands. Previously it included the municipality of Killarney on the mainland, until this was transferred to Sudbury District in the late 1990s. Subsequently, more mainland portions were added to Killarney and these, together with Unorganized Mainland Manitoulin District, were also transferred to Sudbury District in 2006, about in all. Highway 6 (Ontario)
King's Highway 6, commonly referred to as Highway 6, is a provincially maintained highway in the Canadian province of Ontario. It crosses a distance of between Port Dover, on the northern shore of Lake Erie, and Espanola, on the northern shore of Lake Huron, before ending at the Trans-Canada Highway ( Highway 17) in McKerrow. Highway 6 was one of several routes established when Ontario first introduced a highway network on February 26, 1920, following several pioneer wagon trails. The original designation, not numbered until 1925, connected Port Dover with Owen Sound via Hamilton and Guelph. Georgian Bay
Georgian Bay (french: Baie Georgienne) is a large bay of Lake Huron, in the Laurentia bioregion. It is located entirely within the borders of Ontario, Canada. The main body of the bay lies east of the Bruce Peninsula and Manitoulin Island. To its northwest is the North Channel. Georgian Bay is surrounded by (listed clockwise) the districts of Manitoulin, Sudbury, Parry Sound and Muskoka, as well as the more populous counties of Simcoe, Grey and Bruce. The Main Channel separates the Bruce Peninsula from Manitoulin Island and connects Georgian Bay to the rest of Lake Huron. Central Manitoulin is a township in the Canadian province of Ontario. It is located on Manitoulin Island and in Manitoulin District. Communities The primary community and administrative centre of the township is Mindemoya. Smaller communities include Big Lake, Britainville, Dryden's Corner, Gibraltar, Grimsthorpe, Long Bay, Monument Corner, Old Spring Bay, Perivale, Providence Bay, Sandfield and Spring Bay. Hughes (born November 26, 1958 in Val Caron, Ontario) is a Canadian politician, who has represented the electoral district of Algoma—Manitoulin—Kapuskasing in the House of Commons of Canada since 2008.
