Ted Lune
Ted Lune (born Harold Garnett; 18 August 1920 – 7 January 1968) was a British actor, best known for portraying Private Len Bone in the TV series ''The Army Game''. He also worked in radio comedy and appeared in a couple of films. He was born in Ainsworth, Greater Manchester, Ainsworth, Lancashire. After leaving school at 15 and serving an engineering apprenticeship, he began entertaining people by, for example, reciting Stanley Holloway monologues, and he became well known in the Bolton area. He married Florence Baker in 1943, and they had two daughters, Lynne and Anne. He turned professional in 1947, taking his stage name from the River Lune that flows through Lancashire, and his older brother's name. Harold and Florence later divorced and in 1953 he married an entertainer, Valerie J. Tanner, known professionally as Valerie Joy. Selsey
Selsey is a seaside town and civil parish, about eight miles (12 km) south of Chichester in West Sussex, England. Selsey lies at the southernmost point of the Manhood Peninsula, almost cut off from mainland Sussex by the sea. It is bounded to the west by Bracklesham Bay, to the north by Broad Rife (''rife''Parish. The Lady Is A Square
''The Lady Is a Square'' is a black and white 1958 British comedy musical film directed by Herbert Wilcox and featuring Anna Neagle, Frankie Vaughan and Janette Scott. It was Neagle's final film appearance and the last film directed by Wilcox although he produced several further films before his bankruptcy in 1964. The film was re-released theatrically in 2001 by Paramount Pictures in North America and Universal Pictures internationally, in DVD in 2002 and DVD (and Blu-ray) in 2006. As a joke within the film, when Johnny is in the recording studio, one of the producers says "he is another Frankie Vaughan". Gwrych Castle
Gwrych Castle ( cy, Castell Gwrych meaning "hedged castle") (Originally spelt as 'Gwrŷch') is a Grade I listed 19th-century country house near Abergele in Conwy County Borough, Wales. The castle and 236 acre estate are owned by a charity, and a portion of the land is leased to Natural Resources Wales for a 999-year term. Foundation of the castle Gwrych Castle was built between 1810 and 1825 by Lloyd Hesketh Bamford-Hesketh (1787–1861), in memory of his mother Frances Lloyd and her ancestors. It incorporated an earlier house that had been in the ownership of the Lloyds since the late-medieval period. The Army Game
''The Army Game'' is a British television sitcom that aired on ITV from 19 June 1957 to 20 June 1961. It was the very first ITV sitcom and was made by Granada, and created by Sid Colin. It follows the exploits of Hut 29, a dysfunctional group of soldiers and their National Service conscription into the British Army during the post war years. The original cast consisted of William Hartnell, Michael Medwin, Geoffrey Sumner, Alfie Bass, Charles Hawtrey, Bernard Bresslaw and Norman Rossington.
