Tanzania National Football Team
The Tanzania national football team ( sw, Timu ya Taifa ya Mpira wa Miguu ya Tanzania) represents Tanzania in men's international football and is controlled by the Tanzania Football Federation, the governing body for football in Tanzania, Tanzania's home ground is Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium in Dar-es-Salaam and their head coach is Dean Alty from Tanzania. They are colloquially known as the ''Taifa Stars''. Tanzania has never qualified for the FIFA World Cup. Mbwana Samatta
Mbwana Ally Samatta (born 23 December 1992) is a Tanzanian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Belgian Pro League club Genk, on loan from Süper Lig club Fenerbahçe, and captains the Tanzania national team. Samatta began his career as a youth player for Tanzanian club African Lyon in 2008. He turned professional in 2010 with Simba Sports Club, where he played for only half of the season before moving to TP Mazembe, spending a total of five years with them, initially becoming a first-team regular. He was named the 2015 African based Player of the Year and finished the season as the top goalscorer of the CAF Champions League, as he helped TP Mazembe to win the title. CECAFA Cup
The CECAFA Cup, is the oldest football tournament in Africa. It is organized by the Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA). A FIFA competition, it includes participants of football playing national teams from the East African Region. Cup history There is an anomaly on national teams in the case of Tanzania. Zanzibar National Football Team
The Zanzibar national football team represents Zanzibar in international football and is controlled by the Zanzibar Football Federation. History Zanzibar is not a member of FIFA and is therefore not eligible to enter the World Cup. The island is part of the nation of Tanzania, which holds FIFA recognition at the international level.
