Tan Lian Hoe
Dato' Tan Lian Hoe (; born 14 November 1958) is a Malaysian politician. She was a Member of Parliament of Malaysia from 2004 to 2013. She was a member of the Malaysian People's Movement Party (Gerakan), a former component party in the then-ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. Political career Tan was elected to the Gerik seat in the 2008 election, having served from 2004 as the Member of Parliament for Bukit Gantang earlier. In the 2013 election, she contested the seat of Taiping, but was defeated by Nga Kor Ming of the Democratic Action Party (DAP). Results only available for the 2013 election. Tan contested the Perak state seat of Jalong instead in the 2018 general elections but lost. Datuk Joseph Salang Gandum (born 1 January 1951) is a Malaysian politician and former bank officer who served as the Deputy Minister of Information, Communications and Culture, Deputy Minister of Energy, Water and Communications and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Ministers Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, Najib Razak and former Ministers Rais Yatim, Shaziman Abu Mansor and Syed Hamid Albar from March 2004 to May 2013 as well as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Julau from November 1999 to May 2018. The Parti Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia ( en, Malaysian People's Movement Party, commonly abbreviated as GERAKAN or less commonly as PGRM) is a liberal political party in Malaysia. Formed in 1968, Gerakan gained prominence in the 1969 general election when it defeated the ruling Alliance Party in Penang and won the majority of seats in Penang's state legislature. Sungai Siput (U) ( Jawi: سوڠاي سيڤوت; Tamil: சுங்கை சீப்புட்) (English: Snail River) is a town and mukim in Kuala Kangsar District, Perak, Malaysia, covering 155.141 hectares, 61.5% of the total area of Kuala Kangsar. Sungai Siput falls under the management of the Kuala Kangsar Municipal Council. History The earliest settlement in Sungai Siput was situated at Pelang, about 2 kilometres from the current town. Malacca
Malacca ( ms, Melaka) is a state in Malaysia located in the southern region of the Malay Peninsula, next to the Strait of Malacca. 2004 Malaysian General Election
A general election was held on Sunday, 21 March 2004 for members of the 11th Parliament of Malaysia. Voting took place in all 219 parliamentary constituencies of Malaysia, each electing one Member of Parliament to the Dewan Rakyat, the dominant house of Parliament. Barisan Nasional
The National Front ( ms, Barisan Nasional; abbrev: BN) is a political coalition of Malaysia that was founded in 1973 as a coalition of centre-right and right-wing political parties. It is also the third largest political coalition with 30 seats in the Dewan Rakyat after coalition Pakatan Harapan with 82 seats and the coalition Perikatan Nasional with 73 seats.
