Tales Of Monkey Island
''Tales of Monkey Island'' is a 2009 graphic adventure video game developed by Telltale Games under license from LucasArts. It is the fifth game in the ''Monkey Island'' series, released nearly a decade after the previous installment, ''Escape from Monkey Island''. Developed for Windows and the Wii console, the game was released in five episodic segments, between July and December 2009. In contrast to Telltale's previous episodic adventure games, whose chapters told discrete stories, each chapter of ''Tales of Monkey Island'' is part of an ongoing narrative. The game was digitally distributed through WiiWare and Telltale's own website, and later through Steam and Amazon.com. Ports for OS X, the PlayStation Network, and iOS were released several months after the series ended. Steve Purcell
Steven Ross Purcell (born October 1, 1961) is an American cartoonist, animator, game designer and voice actor. He is the creator of the media franchise ''Sam & Max'', for which Purcell received an Eisner Award in 2007. The series has grown to incorporate an animated television series and several video games. A graduate of the California College of the Arts, California College of Arts and Craft, Purcell began his career creating comic strips for the college newsletter. He performed freelance work for Marvel Comics and Fishwrap Productions before publishing his first ''Sam & Max'' comic in 1987. Hoodoo is a set of spiritual practices, traditions, and beliefs created and concealed from slaveholders by enslaved Africans in North America. LeChuck
LeChuck is a fictional character in LucasArts' ''Monkey Island'' series of graphic adventure games. Created by Ron Gilbert, LeChuck was introduced in ''The Secret of Monkey Island'' and is the main antagonist of the series. Gilbert drew on aspects of the characters in the 1988 novel ''On Stranger Tides'' for his concept for LeChuck. An undead pirate captain, LeChuck is obsessed with pursuing the affections of the series' heroine, Elaine Marley, and exacting revenge upon protagonist Guybrush Threepwood, who is responsible for consistently thwarting his plans; at some points, he is depicted as being Guybrush's brother. Guybrush Threepwood
Guybrush Ulysses Threepwood is a fictional character who serves as the main protagonist of the ''Monkey Island'' series of computer adventure games by LucasArts. Guybrush is voiced by actor Dominic Armato in the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth games, as well as the enhanced remakes of ''The Secret of Monkey Island'' and '' Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge''. Though a "mighty pirate" by his own account, he is a rather clumsy and disorganized protagonist throughout the series. WiiWare
WiiWare was a service that allowed Wii users to download games and applications specifically designed and developed for the Wii video game console made by Nintendo. These games and applications could only be purchased and downloaded from the Wii Shop Channel under the WiiWare section. Once the user had downloaded the game or application, it would appear in their Wii Menu or SD Card Menu as a new channel.
