Talal Maddah
Talal Maddah (5 August 1940 – 11 August 2000; ar, طلال مدَّاح) was a Saudi Arabian musician and composer. He was named Maddah after his mother's family. His fans called him "The Earth's Voice" ( ar, صوت الارض), and he was also known as "The Golden Throat" ( ar, الحنجرة الذهبية). He had a substantial influence over 20th century-Arabian culture Talal Maddah began his career emulating Hijazi singers such as Hassan Jawa and Mohammed Ali Sindi. During his career, he participated in many festivals in Saudi Arabia between 1960 and 2000. He also participated in many festivals in the Arab states of the Persian Gulf, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Algeria, Tunisia and Libya. The Saudi Press Agency (SPA; ar, وكالة الأنباء السعودية) is the official news agency of Saudi Arabia. History and profile The agency was established in 1970 as the first national news agency in Saudi Arabia. The agency is also the first news agency in the Persian Gulf region. The main goal of its establishment was to serve as a central body to collect and distribute local and international news in Saudi Arabia and abroad. The SPA is under the responsibility of the ministry of Media and therefore, its president directly reports to the minister. Khaliji (music)
Khaliji music (also spelled Khaleeji; ar, الموسيقى الخليجية meaning Gulf music) is the music of Eastern Arabia, the Gulf Arabian states and it is popular across the Arab world. It is traditionally characterized by heavy use of the rebab, oud and other string instruments such as the violin, the occasional use of habbān, and the inclusion of percussion instruments such as the mirwas, tabl, and duff drums. Baligh Hamdi ( arz, بليغ حمدى ; 7 October 1931 – 12 September 1993) was an Egyptian composer who created and composed many hit songs for several Middle Eastern singers, especially during the 1960s and 1970s. He composed Warda's most famous songs, and the two got married for a long period. Early years Baligh Abdel Hamid Hamdi Morsi was born on 7 October 1931 in the Shubra district of Cairo. His father was a professor of physics at King Fuad I University (now Cairo University). He learned to play the violin at age nine, and the oud two or three years later.
