Hasan Tahsin Uzer
Hasan Tahsin Bey (27 August 1878 – 5 December 1939; surnamed Uzer after 1934) was an Ottoman and later Turkish bureaucrat and politician. Throughout his career as a politician, Tahsin served as a governor to several Ottoman cities including Aydın, Erzurum, Van and the province of Syria. Thereafter, he served as deputy to the cities of Ardahan, Erzurum, and Konya. During the Armenian genocide, he was complicit in the Kemah massacres. After the war, he provided important testimony on the genocide. Life and career Hasan Tahsin was born in Thessaloniki, Greece on 27 August 1878, he was of Albanian descent. He was the son of Ibarahim Ağa and Hatice Hanim, and the childhood friend of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Hasan Tahsin Pasha
Hasan Tahsin Pasha (1845–1918), also known as Hasan Tahsin Mesarea, was a senior Ottoman military officer, who served in the Greco-Turkish War of 1897, and in the First Balkan War. Biography and career Hasan Tahsin was an Albanian, born in Mesare (located in Albania on the border with Greece), which at the time was part of the ''kaza'' of Leskovik. During his youth, he attended and graduated from the Greek Zosimaia School at Ioannina, and spoke Greek fluently. He began service as a gendarme ca. 1870 in Katerini, and later joined the Ottoman Army as an NCO. He soon received a commission as an officer, and by 1881 he commanded the Ottoman Gendarmerie at Ioannina. During the Greco-Turkish War of 1897, he commanded the 6th Trabzon Division, and around 1900, he was placed as garrison commander of Thessaloniki. Hasan Tahsin
Hasan Tahsin was the code name of Osman Nevres (1888 – 15 May 1919), a Turkish nationalist, patriot, and journalist of Dönmeh descent. Hailed as a Turkish war hero, his name has been given by the Turkish Armed Forces to the Information Center of the Turkish General Staff (Genelkurmay İletişim Başkanlığı'nın Hasan Tahsin Bilgi Merkezi). A member of the Ottoman Special Organization, he unsuccessfully tried to assassinate Noel and Charles Roden Buxton in Romania during World War I. He was sentenced to five years imprisonment for the attempt but released when German forces overran Romania. Hasan Tahsin (poet)
Hasan Tahsin (1800/1801 – 18 August 1861), also known as Kör Tahsin ("Blind Tahsin"), was a Turkish Cypriot divan poetry, divan poet and Islamic jurist. He rose to high-ranking judicial positions in the Ottoman Empire, becoming the kazasker of Rumelia. Not much of his written work survives. Life Hasan Tahsin was born in Nicosia. His father was Hacı Mehmed Agha, the ''muhassıl'' of Cyprus and a ''Surre-i Hümâyûn, surre emini'', who owned a house in Damascus known as "Beytü'ş-şürefâ". His grandfather, Mehmed Agha, was also Cypriot. Hasan Tahsin started his educational life with the lessons he took from his father, learning about the Quran and tajwid, tecvid. Tahsin Özgüç
Tahsin Özgüç (1916–2005) was an eminent Turkish field archaeologist. The careers of Tahsin Özgüç and his wife, Nimet Özgüç, began after World War II and lasted for nearly 60 years. He was said to be the doyen of Anatolian archaeology. Life Tahsin Özgüç was born in Kardzhali, Bulgaria to Turkish parents. He was educated at the Faculty of Philology, History and Geography in Ankara University, graduating 1940. Following his doctorate in 1942, he married fellow archaeologist, Nimet Dinçer in 1944. At the same faculty, he became assistant between 1945 and 1946 and lecturer from 1946 to 1954, the year when he was appointed professor. Tahsin Yazıcı () (1892 in Bitola, Monastir – February 11, 1971 in Ankara) was an Ottoman Army (1861–1922), Ottoman Army officer and later a Turkish Army general and politician. Biography He was born to his father Ali Bey and his mother Ganimet Hanım in Bitola, Monastir, Ottoman Empire (present-day Bitola, North Macedonia) in 1892. He was recorded in Kefçedede wards, Üsküdar District of Istanbul Province. He entered the Ottoman Military Academy in Istanbul, Turkey on November 1, 1909, and graduated from the academy as second lieutenant on March 1, 1912. After graduation, he served during the First World War in Gallipoli Campaign, Gallipoli and he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant on March 1, 1916. Abu Tahsin Al-Salhi
Abu Tahsin al-Salihi ( ar, أبو تØسين الصالØÙŠ; 1 July 1953 – 29 September 2017) was an Iraqi veteran sniper. A volunteer in the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces, he is credited with killing over 384 ISIS members during the War in Iraq (2013–2017), receiving the nicknames "The Sheikh of Snipers" and "Hawk Eye." Before the War in Iraq (2013–2017), al-Salihi fought in the Yom Kippur War, the Iran–Iraq War, the invasion of Kuwait, the Gulf War, and the 2003 US invasion of Iraq. According to al-Salihi, in the Yom Kippur War he was part of an Iraqi brigade fighting on Golan Heights. Around May 2015 al-Salihi joined the Popular Mobilization Forces and was stationed in the Makhoul Mountains in northern Iraq, armed with a Steyr anti materiel rifle. Tahsin Aykutalp (1926 - 16 December 2013) was a Turkish people, Turkish Miniature (illuminated manuscript), miniature artist and teacher of Ottoman illumination, tezhip. He is recorded as saying "There is a miniature technique in all my cells". Early life Dündar Tahsin Aykutalp was born in Istanbul in 1926 to his father Hayri Bey and mother Mevhibe Hanım, who was from the Kayı (tribe), Kayi Tribe. His grandfather was Nakkaş Mevlüt Ağa. Tahsin ErtuÄŸruloÄŸlu (born 1953) is a Turkish Cypriot politician. He served as a member of the Assembly of the Republic representing the LefkoÅŸa District between 1998 and 2018. During this time, he was a member of the National Unity Party (UBP) between 1998 and 2010, serving as the leader of the party between 2006 and 2008. Tahsin Şahinkaya (1 May 1925 – 9 July 2015) was a Turkish Air Force general. After completing his compulsory military service in the Turkish Army Artillery beteen 1943 and 1945, he was commissioned as a Supermarine Spitfire pilot in the Air Force. From 1955 he flew the North American F-86 Sabre and was a Squadron Commander from 1958 to 1961. In 1960 he also qualified as a Pilot for the North American F-100 Super Sabre. Promoted to Colonel in 1962, he commanded a regiment of Sabrejet fighters between 1962 and 1964 and a regiment of Super Sabre fighters from 1966 to 1968.
