Tabilk, Victoria
Tabilk is a small rural area located about 90 minutes north of Melbourne. The 2016 census recorded that 131 people lived in the area. The closest major towns are Nagambie (About 10–15 minutes north-west of Tabilk), Avenel (About 20 minutes south-east of Tabilk) and Seymour (About 25–30 minutes south-west of Tabilk. Tabilk is mostly a farm town with no shops. Passing through the township is the Shepparton line. There was a small railway station in Tabilk but has since closed. Places of interest in close proximity to Tabilk include the Goulburn River, Lake Nagambie, and local wineries which include Mitchelton. and Tahbilk. The Tocumwal railway line (also known as the Shepparton line) is a gauge railway line in Victoria, Australia. The line runs between the border town of Tocumwal in New South Wales to Southern Cross, Melbourne. Tabilk is a closed railway station on the Goulburn Valley railway in the township of Tabilk, Victoria, Australia. The station opened at the same time as the railway from Mangalore to Shepparton on 13 January 1880 and closed in 1985.
