TVB Star Awards Malaysia
The TVB Star Awards Malaysia () is an annual awards ceremony honoring Cantonese programming achievements in Malaysia. It is produced by TVB Entertainment News, with Astro and MY FM as media partners. The ceremony was previously known as the My Astro On Demand Favourites Awards (), which succeeded the Astro Wah Lai Toi Drama Awards (). The Malaysian television channel Astro Wah Lai Toi, presented by Astro, airs Hong Kong television programmes produced by TVB. In 2005, Astro organised its first awards ceremony, the 2004 Astro Wah Lai Toi Drama Awards, presenting awards to Hong Kong actors and actresses for their acting achievements in TVB television dramas. TVB Entertainment News took over the production of the awards series in 2013, renaming it The TVB Star Awards. It has since become an annual event, and is regarded as a prelude to Hong Kong's TVB Anniversary Awards. Maggie Cheung Ho-yee
Maggie Cheung Ho-yee (; born 20 March 1969) is a Hong Kong actress. Career Maggie Cheung Ho-yee competed in TVB's 1994 Miss Hong Kong beauty pageant, reaching the final five but not placing. However she did gain a special award for best "potential artist" (最具演藝潛質獎) and was signed to the channel soon afterwards. Her career spun off to a whirlwind of a start, as she was offered a leading role. However, she wanted to start from the bottom up and hence declined the role, only to accept a subsidiary role in another series. Many will say that her career kicked off with the well accepted ''Old Time Buddy'', but some others say it is with her primary leading role in "One Good Turn Deserves Another". The Jiaqing Emperor (13 November 1760 – 2 September 1820), also known by his temple name Emperor Renzong of Qing, born Yongyan, was the sixth emperor of the Manchu-led Qing dynasty, and the fifth Qing emperor to rule over China proper, from 1796 to 1820. Charmaine Sheh Sze-man (; born 28 May 1975) is a Hong Kong actress. After winning second runner-up in the 1997 Miss Hong Kong pageant, Sheh signed a contract with TVB in 1998. Bowie Lam (, Lam Bo-yee; born 4 September 1965) is an Hong Kong actor with the TVB network. He has starred in several popular dramas including ''File of Justice'' and '' Healing Hands''. Dayo Wong Tze-wah (born 5 September 1960) is a Hong Kong comedian, actor and singer. Known as a pioneer of stand-up comedy in Hong Kong, he is known for his stadium shows integrating political satire and social commentary. He has performed at the Hong Kong Coliseum, including 26 sold-out shows at his farewell stand-up performance. Biography Wong gained a bachelor's degree in philosophy from the University of Alberta in Canada.
